Discussing the preparation for the 110th birthday of comrade Luong Van Tri and the 80th anniversary of Bac Son Uprising

(LSO) – On June 17, Mr. Duong Xuan Huyen, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee chaired a meeting to consider the preparation to organize activities to celebrate the 110th birthday of Comrade Luong Van Tri (August 17, 1910-17 August 8, 2020) and the 80th anniversary of Bac Son Uprising (September 27, 1940-27, 2020).
According to the report at the meeting, based on the guiding documents of the Steering Committee to organize important anniversaries and events of Lang Son province in 2019-2020, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, The People’s Committee of Van Quan district, the People’s Committee of Bac Son district and a number of related departments, commissions, sectors and the People’s Committees of districts and city have built a detailed plan and issued guiding documents for the implementation of assigned tasks, actively preparing the content, conditions for organizing the anniversaries.

Accordingly, regarding the 110th birthday of Comrade Luong Van Tri, the Organizing Committee launched a writing contest of ‘Understanding the life of revolutionary activities and great contributions of Comrade Luong Van Tri to Vietnamese revolutionary career’, (after the first round, more than 400 papers have been selected to enter the next round); organizing a songwriting competition about comrade Luong Van Tri and his hometown Van Quan; the first festival of Lang Son folk clubs in 2020.
At the same time, the project of renovating and repairing the Memorial House of Comrade Luong Van Tri in Tran Ninh commune, Van Quan district and the peak activities on the occasion of this anniversary.
Regarding the 80th anniversary of Bac Son Uprising, up to now, Bac Son District People’s Committee is implementing investment procedures in accordance with regulations on propaganda and decoration, urban embellishment to celebrate the anniversary. It is expected to be completed in July 2020.
At the same time, they are investing in the construction and renovation of works belonging to special national monument sites such as Tam Canh mountain pass, Nong Luc communal house and a number of other cultural works. Besides, the conditions for organizing a scientific workshop entitled ‘Bac Son Uprising with the Vietnamese revolutionary career. Historical value – Preserving and promoting’ and the peak activities on the occasion of the anniversary such as incense offering, flower offering; sports activities; art programs etc.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee asked departments, sectors and People’s Committees of districts and city to well implement some contents including the promotion of propaganda about the stature, position and role of comrade Luong Van Tri and Bac Son Uprising with the Vietnamese revolutionary cause; coordinating between units in the implementation of the plan.
Specifically, in order to implement the 110th birthday of comrade Luong Van Tri, the units need to well prepare on the content, detailed scenarios; urban embellishment; ensuring the progress and quality of renovating and repairing monuments; the seminar program needs the coordination among relevant levels and branches to collect more documents about the identity and career of comrade Luong Van Tri.
Rgarding the program on the 80th anniversary of Bac Son Uprising, the units need to focus on well implementing the content of the workshop program according to the plan. Sports and cultural activities need to be balanced and well managed; celebration programs need to be developed with specific scenarios; for the restoration of monuments, it is necessary to select qualified contractors to ensure the quality of the works.
