The Provincial People’s Committee reviewed the situation of foreigners entering Lang Son province

(LSO) – On July 27, the Provincial People’s Committee held a meeting to review the situation of foreigners entering Lang Son.

Mr. Duong Xuan Huyen, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, Standing Deputy Chairman of Lang Son Provincial Covid-19 Prevention and Control Steering Committee of chaired the meeting.

According to a report of the functional sectors, from the beginning of 2020, the provincial functional forces have organized to receive over 2,200 cases of illegal entry and exit returned by China.

The Provincial Border Guard Command has coordinated with the Provincial Police to investigate and prosecute 24 cases with 48 subjects who organized illegal entry and exit; implement punishment of administrative violations on 36 cases and 71 subjects.

Recently, the Border Guard forces encouraged nearly 500 Vietnamese citizens who intend to leave Vietnam illegally to return. From April 20, 2020, functional forces have made entry procedures for more than 12,000 Chinese experts to enter Vietnam through border gates in the province; in which over 1,500 people are quarantined in Lang Son.

At the meeting, the delegates focused on measures in the management of immigration into the province, and made recommendations to better implement the immigration control.

In conclusion, the Vice Chairman highly appreciated the provincial departments, commissions, sectors and members of the Provincial Covid-19 Prevention and Control Steering Committee for their efforts in implementing the tasks.

He requested that departments, commissions, sectors, districts and city should continue to thoroughly grasp the viewpoints, principles and methods to well implement measures to prevent and control Covid-19 according to Directive 19 of the Prime Minister, at the same time, well implementing the Document No.880 dated 26 July, 2020 of the Provincial People’s Committee on strengthening the prevention and control of Covid-19.

In particular, agencies and Covid-19 Prevention and Control Steering Committee at all levels promote propaganda to the people, especially in border districts and communes, raising awareness for people about denouncing people who lead foreigners to illegal entry the province.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee also requested departments, commissions, sectors, districts and city to continue to well implement the strict management of illegal entry and exit activities across the border, especially through border trails; not to allow foreigners to illegally enter the province. At the same time, maintaining well border checkpoints at the entrance of border areas; strictly managing temporary residence and temporary absence; regularly checking foreigners working in businesses in the area.

At the same time, severely punishing subjects who lead illegal immigrants into the area, false information about epidemic prevention and control.

Health facilities have strengthened supervision and sampling of cases with symptoms of respiratory infections. The health sector prepares medical equipment and supplies for epidemic prevention and control; preparing early plans for testing citizens who finished their quarantine time. Departments, sectors and units control cases of officials and citizens on business and tourist trips to Da Nang etc.
