The press conference on the 1st Lang Son Provincial Folk Music Festival

(LSO) – On the morning of July 28, 2020, Lang Son Provincial Folk Music Conservation Association organized a press conference about the 1st Lang Son Provincial Folk Music Festival.

Attending the press conference were the representatives of provincial departments, committees, agencies, the leaders of Van Quan District People’s Committee and journalists from central and local press agencies.

At the conference, the President of the Folk Music Conservation Association informed about the situation and progress of implementing the plan to organize Lang Son Provincial Folk Music Festival in 2020.

Accordingly, the Festival will have the participation of nearly 40 clubs with about 250 artisans and actors.

Overview of the press conference

Clubs have registered about 50 repertoires of various types of folk songs and dances from ethnic groups such as Kinh, Tay, Nung, Dao, Hoa, H’mong, San Chay and so on.

The Festival will be held from 3 to 5 August, 2020. The opening ceremony will take place at 8 am on August 4, 2020 at the hall of Van Quan District People’s Committee (Van Quan township).

In addition, in the framework of the Festival, the Organizing Committee will arrange delegations/units to exchange and perform for some points in the host district, especially Tran Ninh commune (the hometown of the Revolutionist Luong Van Tri) and Van Quan township (Van Quan district).

This Festival aims to honor, promote and introduce the values ​​of folk songs, folk dances, folk music, Xu Lang’s cultural characteristics to the people in the province and in the whole country; create opportunities for artisans and members of folk music clubs in the province to meet, exchange and learn, as well as discover and foster new people, especially the young generation.

This is also a practical activity to celebrate public holidays of the country and the province, especially the 110th birthday anniversary of Mr. Luong Van Tri (August 17, 1910 – August 17, 2020).

At the press conference, the representatives of the Folk Music Conservation Association received comments and answered questions from the reporters of press agencies related to issues such as preparation work, socialized resource mobilization, award structure for the young generation of teenagers, children and so on. At the same time, it called for news and newspapers agencies to actively propagate the Festival to the people and tourists.
