Lang Son has two more communes to meet “new-style rural area” standards

(LSO) – On August 5, 2020, the Evaluation Board on New-style Rural Area Standards (RST) of Lang Son province organized a meeting to evaluate and certify that Tan Lap commune, Bac Son district and Huu Le commune, Van Quan district met the requirements to become the two new-style rural areas.

The meeting was chaired by Mr. Ho Tien Thieu, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, Chairman of the Evaluation Board.

At the meeting, the leader of the Coordination Office- The Provincial “New-Style Rural Are” Organization Program summarized the evaluation results for the two communes. Accordingly, the two  communes have basically completed 19 out 19 criteria. However, there are some criteria both 2 communes need to review thoroughly to be qualified in the coming time.

Mr. Ho Tien Thieu, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee spoke at the meeting.

Delegates of the related provincial departments,  members of the Evaluation Boards, leaders  of Bac Son district People’s Committee and, Van Quan  district People Committee, leaders of Tan Lap commune People’s committee and Huu Le commune People’s committee discussed and clarified a number of issues related to some  difficult criteria such as income per capita , the percentage of households living in poverty, quality of health care system, environmental issues, etc.

After the discussion, members of the Provincial Board on New-styles Rural Area proceeded the voting procedures. 100% of the voters agreed that the two communes met the new standards in 2020 to be titled “New-style rural area” communes. It is recorded that the whole province has 51 out of 181 communes meeting the “New-style  Rural Area” standards.

At the end of the meeting, Mr. Ho Tien Thieu, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee congratulated the two communes of Tan Lap and Huu Le for their efforts in building New-style Rural Areas.

He requested that People’s Committees of Bac Son and Van Quan districts as well as People’s Committees of Tan Lap and Huu Le communes should continue  to work on some difficult criterion to increase the quality of the achieved targets, support local people to replicate productive farming models; improve their income, and encourage them to carry out fully the the environmental criterion.
