Talk marks 70 years since President Ho Chi Minh wrote article “Mass Mobilisation”

(LSO) – The mass mobilization board of the Party Committee of Lang Son province on August 26 organised a talk to mark 70 years since President Ho Chi Minh wrote an article titled “Mass Mobilisation” on the occasion of the 89th anniversary of the Party’s Mass Mobilisation Day (October 15, 1930-2019) and the 20th National Mass Mobilisation Day (October 15, 1999-2019).

Standing Vice Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Council Hoang Van Nghiem attended the event.

On October 15, 1949, when the resistance war against the French colonialists was at the fiercest period, President Ho Chi Minh wrote an article titled “Mass Mobilisation” pointing out that mass mobilization was an extremely important task of the entire political system.

Over the past time, thanks to the application of the late President’s viewpoint on mass mobilization, all-level Party committees and authorities in Lang Son have been able to mobilize the strength of the people and enhance the close-knit relations between the Party and people, thus reaping significant achievements in different fields.

Hoang Van Nghiem, Standing Vice Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Council speaks at the talk

Between 2014 and 2019, the Vietnam Fatherland Front committees at all levels in Lang Son have raised over 543 billion VND (23.34 million USD), more than 742,000 sq.m of  land and over 597,000 working days from the people for the building of new-style rural areas.

Since 2010, units of the provincial police have presented more than 10,000 gift packages worth over 3 billion VND, and built and upgraded 14 houses for poor households and social policy beneficiaries. They have also persuaded officers, soldiers, organisations and individuals to help build three classrooms valued at 1.5 billion VND in Cao Loc, Binh Gia and Bac Son districts.

Speaking at the talk, Nghiem lauded achievements in the mass mobilization work recorded by all-level Party committees and authorities in Lang Son.

The Party committees and administrations have issued many documents instructing the mass mobilization work. Therefore, patriotic emulation movements and campaigns have been implemented fruitfully, with outstanding mass mobilization models, he said.

                                              An overview of the talk

The official urged all-level Party committees, authorities and units to continue study the President’s article, considering this a handbook in the mass mobilization work.

Party committees and administrations at all levels should consider mass mobilization a central task and put the people’s interests first, he said, adding that they should closely follow President Ho Chi Minh’s viewpoint on great unity in the work.

Besides, it is necessary to build working styles and raise the sense of responsibility of mass mobilization officials, and put forth mechanisms to attract those who have skills and experience in this field, he said.

Nghiem also required agencies and units to regularly share experience and coordinate in the work.
