Lang Son gets ready for national holiday

(LSO) – The National Day (September 2) holiday will last for three days. This is an occasion for families to travel and relax and the Lang Son tourism sector has been preparing to grab such an opportunity.

Renowned hotels and guest houses like Muong Thanh, Vinpearl and Hoa Sim now see between 50 and 60 percent of their rooms booked for the holiday. Most of them have been working to improve facilities, decorate spaces, and organise entertainment activities.

Phung Thi Trang, head of the Muong Thanh Hotel’s sales department, said: “The booking rate has reached 65 percent and is projected to continue increasing in the coming days. As usual, we redecorate our space for holidays by reusing bottles for this occasion in response to environmental protection campaigns.”

Local tourist destinations have also launched their decoration work and added more services for visitors. In Huu Lung district, tourism is booming with a series of projects underway. In the first six months of 2019, it welcomed 600,000 arrivals, reeling in 50 billion VND 2.15 million USD) in revenue. The local Huu Lien community-based tourism village is a magnet to tourists.

Hoang Thanh Hieu, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Huu Lien commune in Huu Lung district, said: “Holidaymakers are forecast to crowd the village during the upcoming holiday. In response, we have planned tour guides at six households meeting standards, ensured security and sanitation conditions, and arranged a series of hands-on activities for tourists like making cakes, harvesting rice, rowing, and fishing. Performances of folk music are also scheduled.”

Not only Huu Lung, Bac Son district also attracts a huge number of visitors on holidays. Historical relic sites in the district, particularly the Museum of Bac Son Revolution, the Bac Son flower valley, the Mo Mam spring, and the Quynh Son and Vu Lang community-based tourism villages are making thorough preparations to serve the tourists.

Manager of Mo Mam spring eco-tourism site Duong Cong Hanh said to serve the guests, in addition to the improvement of the spring system for bathing, food services and entertainment, the staff have renovated walking paths to a nearby cave to satisfy tourists’ thirst for exploration.

Head of the tourism management office of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Dang Thi Lan said it has advised the department to issue documents instructing tourism businesses and facilities of the province to arrange security forces which will team up with competent agencies to maintain safety and security to ensure a safe, enjoyable and meaningful environment for holidaymakers.

At the same time, tourism facilities were asked to follow regulations of food safety and environmentally hygiene, and not overcharging customers.

With thorough preparations of tourism businesses and establishments and engagement of relevant agencies, the tourism sector of Lang Son hopes to leave a good impression on visitors who travel to the province on the holidays.
