Working session of Lang Son tourism programme’s organising board held

Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Lang Son province Duong Xuan Huyen chaired a working session of the organising board of the 11th edition of the “Travelling to heritage in the northern mountainous region” tourism programme on August 29.

This year’s programme will take place on November 3-5 and draw the participation of six provinces in the region, namely Lang Son, Cao Bang, Bac Kan, Thai Nguyen, Tuyen Quang and Ha Giang.

The opening ceremony is set to be held in Lang Son city at 8pm on November 3. Various activities will be arranged within the framework of the event to introduce and promote local culture and tourism, such as seminars on tourist destinations and shows on cultural traits and tourism products of localities in the region and of China’s Guangzhou.

In addition, art performances, a contest for tour guides and sports activities will be organised during the programme, along with a survey of tourism routes in Lang Son province.

At the session, delegates voiced their opinions on the details of the tourism programme, particularly its title, duration and sub-events, to devise measures and ensure effective organisation of the programme.

Speaking at the meeting, the Vice Chairman of the Lang Son People’s Committee asked the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to closely work with other departments, sectors and agencies of the province and other localities to step up communications on the programme, while scoping out tourist sites to build proper tour packages, with Lang Son city as the centre, and ensuring safety for the organisation of sports competitions./.
