Always creating favorable conditions for longan and agricultural products from Hung Yen province to export through border gates of Lang Son province

On the morning of August 9, 2022, the People’s Committee of Hung Yen province held a conference to promote the consumption of longan and agricultural products from Hung Yen province in 2022. The conference was connected online to 28 domestic and 17 overseas locations.

Attending the conference were Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Minh Hoan; leaders of Hung Yen province and leaders of 25 provinces and cities nationwide; representatives of some foreign agencies in Vietnam; representatives of several domestic and foreign agricultural distribution enterprises.

Attending the conference from Lang Son province were Mrs. Doan Thu Ha, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Committee and leaders of some departments and sectors.

In 2022, the area of ​​longan in Hung Yen province is over 5,000 hectares, those for harvesting is about 4,800 hectares. Its output is estimated at 45,000 tons, the area of ​​early ripening longan accounts for about 5%; that of longan in season is about 85%, the rest is late ripening longan. The area of ​​longan certified to meet VietGAP standards is 1,200 hectares, accounting for about 25% of the total area. In addition to fresh fruit, about 35% of the total output is processed into dried longan.

With the aim of promoting the consumption of agricultural products, Hung Yen province has organized the Early Ripening Hybrid Lychee Fair in 2022; Hung Yen Longan Festival in 2022; The Week of Longan – A Typical Agricultural Product of Hung Yen province in 2022; Hung Yen Orange Fair in 2022; the Week of Orange and Typical Agricultural Products of Hung Yen province in 2022 in Hanoi; especially the conference to promote consumption of longan and agricultural products from Hung Yen province in 2022.

In addition to promoting consumption of Hung Yen longan and Hung Yen agricultural products in the domestic market, through an online conference to promote the consumption of longan and agricultural products from Hung Yen province, the leaders of Hung Yen Provincial People’s Committee wished to connect and coordinate with relevant agencies and units to expand the export market of this province’s longan and agricultural products to a number of countries in ASEAN, China, Japan, Korea, the EU, etc. At the same time, through the conference, the leaders of border provinces with border gates were expected to support and create favorable conditions for the export of longan and agricultural products of Hung Yen province through the area.

Regarding this matter, exchanging at the conference, the leader of Lang Son Department of Industry and Trade said: “The consistent policy of the leaders of Lang Son province is to always create the most favorable and open conditions for export businesses of agricultural products from all localities in the country, including longan and agricultural products of Hung Yen province. Within the agenda of the conference, the People’s Committee of Hung Yen province signed a memorandum of cooperation in consuming longan and agricultural products with distribution enterprises and representatives of e-commerce platforms. At the same time, the ribbon-cutting ceremony was held to “Introduce Hung Yen’s longan and agricultural products into distribution systems”.
