Conference to disseminate and study the books of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong

On the afternoon of August 15, the Lang Son Provincial Party Committee held a conference to disseminate and study the book “Some theoretical and practical matters on socialism and the path to socialism in Vietnam” by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong. The conference was held online and in person in 234 locations with more than 18,400 participants.

At the central site, the conference was attended by Mr. Hoang Van Nghiem, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Delegation of the National Assembly; Mrs. Doan Thi Hau, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council; Members of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee; Members of the Executive Committee of the Provincial Party Committee; reporters at the provincial level; leaders of a number of departments, commissions, sectors of the province.

At the conference, Mr. Le Hai Binh, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission informed delegates about the current outstanding domestic and international situation and the content of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong’s book “Some theoretical and practical issues about socialism and the path to socialism in Vietnam”.

The book consists of 29 important articles, speeches and instructions by the General Secretary from the time when documents for the 13th National Party Congress were being prepared until the end of 2021. Thereby, the General Secretary focused on answering the big questions of the country such as What is socialism? Why does Vietnam choose the socialist path? How to gradually build socialism in Vietnam? What is the meanings and problems of the renovation and process to socialism in Vietnam in recent years?

This is a valuable document, a book with a high theoretical overview, a profound practical summary. The book has analyzed and explained theoretical and practical matters about the model of socialism in Vietnam in a succinct, clear, simple and easy to understand manner. This is an important basis for continuing to summarize through reality, to study theories about the Party’s renovation policy and guidelines, and a valuable document for political and ideological education, raising awareness of our officials, Party members and people about socialism and the path to socialism.

Speaking at the conference, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee affirmed: “This is an opportunity to propagate and raise the awareness of our officials, Party members and people about socialism, the path to socialism in Vietnam. Thereby creating ideological unity in the whole society, promoting the strength of the whole nation to well implement the strategic goals set by the 13th National Party Congress and the 17th Provincial Party Congress.”

He suggested that after this conference, the Party committees of agencies and units should actively propagate the core content of the book in their regular activities. Besides, it is necessary to encourage literary, artistic and journalistic creation activities to propagate and clarify socialism, its achievements, the path to socialism in Vietnam and the value of the General Secretary’s books to the Vietnamese revolution in the current period.
