On the afternoon of August 17, 2022, Mr. Ho Tien Thieu, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee received and worked with the delegation of the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in Vietnam led by Mr. Uladzimir Baravikou, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus in Vietnam.

Overview of the working session between the leaders of Lang Son province and the delegation of the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in Vietnam

At the meeting, Mr. Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee briefly informed the delegation about the natural conditions and socio-economic development of Lang Son province in recent years.

Regarding development orientation, Lang Son province is currently focusing on building infrastructure of the border gate economic zone, striving to build Lang Son soon become one of the centers, focal point of import and export activities of goods, trade, services, tourism and key border gate economy of the Northeast region, become an important gateway to trade goods of ASEAN countries with the Chinese market and vice versa. In addition, the province focuses on developing service industries associated with the border gate economy, focusing on trade services, logistics, export processing, financial services, and banking. Along with it, the province also focuses on developing a synchronous transport infrastructure system, ensuring a favorable connection between Lang Son and other provinces in the region; focus on investing in building urban infrastructure, developing large industrial zones and clusters…

Mr. Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee affirmed: With diplomatic communication and extensive economic cooperation in the past 30 years between Vietnam and Belarus, he believes that in the coming time, cooperation between Belarus and Vietnam in general and with Lang Son province in particular will be sustainable and develop further. Especially, through this working visit, Lang Son province hoped that the Ambassador will mobilize Belarusian businesses to invest in fields such as infrastructure construction, logistics services, tourism…

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Uladzimir Baravikou thanked the leaders of Lang Son province for the warm welcome to the delegation. At the same time, he appreciated the socio-economic development of the province in recent years, as well as the potentials and advantages of Lang Son province.

Discussing some contents of this visit and working in Lang Son province, the Ambassador emphasized a number of areas that the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in Vietnam is very interested in, which is the desire to promote investment in 1-2 projects in Lang Son province, in which the focus is on investment in building logistics infrastructure; promoting the relationship of tourism development; connecting the twinning relationship between the locality of Belarus and Lang Son province in the coming time; In particular, on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Belarus, the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in Vietnam wished to organize an event in Lang Son province in the near future.

After listening to the Ambassador’s comments, the Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee basically agreed. For the fields that Belarus is interested in and wishes to invest in Lang Son, in the coming time, the province will assign a focal point to work with the Embassy to create the most favorable conditions for Belarusian businesses to learn and invest in the province.
