The influence of Comrade Luong Van Tri on the revolutionary movement in the country and in the province

Comrade Luong Van Tri, born on August 17, 1910, into a family of Tay ethnic farmers with patriotic tradition and studiousness in Ban Heo village, My Liet canton, Van Uyen district, Lang Son province (now Ban Heo village, Tran Ninh commune, Van Quan district, Lang Son province). During his childhood years, Luong Van Tri was always eager to learn, achieving many excellent achievements in study. While studying at Lang Son French-Vietnamese Primary School, Luong Van Tri and Hoang Van Thu actively worked in the patriotic youth group at the school.

Luong Van Tri and Hoang Van Thu went to China to contact the Vietnam Revolutionary Youth Association to participate in revolutionary activities and was admitted to the Party and assigned to build loyal mass organizations in the border areas, thereby promoting the revolutionary movement of Lang Son province. After completing the course at Huangpu Military School (China), Comrade Luong Van Tri actively propagated, mobilized, selected patriotic youths to go to China to attend training classes, gathered loyal masses and established communist branches in Bac Son, Trang Dinh.

Appointed by the Party Central Committee to join the Northern Party Committee, as a member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, in charge of military work, Comrade Luong Van Tri directed the organization of military training courses, serving as the core for the continued replication of military training to localities in Northern Vietnam. The Bac Son uprising broke out, and he was assigned the task of Commander of the Bac Son Guerrilla Team, and then the Commander and Politician of the Bac Son National Salvation Team.

During his revolutionary activities (1928-1941), with selfless efforts, the patriotic young man, loyal communist soldier Luong Van Tri has made great contributions to the national liberation struggle movement under the leadership of the Communist Party, had a profound influence on the revolutionary movement in the country and Lang Son province in the 1930-1945 period.

During the period of 1930 – 1938, as a member of the Communist Party of Vietnam living in the Party Committee specializing in activities in China, before being appointed to join the Northern Party Committee, comrade Luong Van Tri’s activities actively contributed to the successful organization of revolutionary training courses for domestic cadres, including many cadres from Lang Son and Cao Bang provinces.

Comrade Luong Van Tri has many merits, making an important contribution to the process of building and developing the revolutionary movement of Lang Son province. He directly worked closely with the grassroots to build and consolidate the revolutionary movement in Bac Son and Trang Dinh from 1936 to 1938.

From 1938 to 1941, as a member of the Standing Committee of the Northern Party Committee, was assigned an important task by the Central Committee and the Northern Party Committee, in charge of the military work of the Northern Party Committee, Comrade Luong Van Tri directly directed the construction and consolidation of the safe zone of the Central Committee and the Northern Party Committee, in Hiep Hoa district, Bac Giang province. . He and some leaders of the Central Committee and the Northern Party Committee organized military training classes for the core staff of the Party Committee. Among the students, there were comrades who later became talented generals of the Vietnam People’s Army like General Hoang Van Thai.

As the Commander of the Bac Son Guerrilla Team, Commander, and Political Officer of the Bac Son National Salvation Team, comrade Luong Van Tri had many merits in building the Bac Son – Vo Nhai base, develop Bac Son guerrilla team into Bac Son National Salvation Team (National Salvation Team 1) – which was one of the predecessor units of the Vietnam People’s Army (President Ho Chi Minh signed the Decree “Awarding the Military Merit Order, First Class” to recognize the merits of the Bac Son Guerrilla Team).

With the direction of Comrade Luong Van Tri and the efforts of the Bac Son National Salvation Team had made an important contribution to the expansion of the revolutionary movement from Bac Son to other districts in Lang Son province (Binh Gia, Bang Mac, Huu Lung, Thot Lang and Trang Dinh).

The life, revolutionary career and the heroic sacrifice of comrade Luong Van Tri for the revolutionary cause of national liberation, is a noble symbol of revolutionary heroism in the struggle for national liberation in1930-1945 period.

Commemorating the 112th birthday of Comrade Luong Van Tri (August 17, 1910 – August 17, 2022) is an opportunity for all levels, sectors, cadres, party members and all walks of life to review the glorious tradition of the nation, remembering the life and career of the resilient and indomitable revolutionary activities of Comrade Luong Van Tri, helping the young generation to deeply understand and appreciate the revolutionary achievements of the Party and the nation. The more we trust and express our gratitude to the Party, President Ho Chi Minh and previous generations, actively study, practice, work, the more we contribute to the successful implementation of the Resolution of the 13th National Congress of the Party and the Resolution of Party congresses at all levels for the 2020-2025 period.
