Provincial Women’s Union: Many good ways to perform office culture

With the implementation of movements and activities of the Union, over the past time, the Provincial Women’s Union (PWU) has focused on implementing many good practices in performing office culture. Thereby, it contributes to improving the quality of activities, building a team of dynamic, creative and professional staff.

Having visited the PWU many times for work, we were very impressed with the working environment, the campus and office here. In the 4-storey building, the hall, office, and corridor are all decorated with green and panels, slogans to encourage the working spirit of the Union’s staff. The document room is arranged neatly, scientifically, the space is clean and airy. Currently, in the headquarters of the Union, there are over 70 trees of all kinds, more than 30 panels and slogans.

Officials of the Provincial Women’s Union exchange professional knowledge

Ms. Nong Hong Thuong, an official from the Commissions of Family and Social Economy under the Provincial Women’s Union, said: “Responding to the movement “Officials, civil servants and public employees of Lang Son province emulate in performing office culture”, especially “Building a civilized, modern, green, clean, beautiful headquarters” launched by the Union, every week, we clean our headquarter on Friday. I add small trees on my personal desk. With other female colleagues, we take advantage of used plastic bottles and jars to plant flowers and decorative trees in the office. Thereby, we have created a relaxing, clean and beautiful working space, helping us work more efficiently.”

The above is just one of the typical example of performing office culture at the Provincial Women’s Union. Ms. Vu Thi Huyen Trang, Standing Vice President of the Provincial Women’s Union, said: “Implementing the movement “Officials, civil servants and public employees of Lang Son province emulate in performing office culture”, we have encouraged 100% of our officials and employees to do it; made it into codes of conduct, regulation of the office and standards for officials to follow. We focus on performing a costume culture, wearing uniform every Monday and Thursday, ao dai in events, creating a beautiful image of women’s union officials. At the same time, we build a professional and effective working style.”

Accordingly, 100% of the Union’s civil servants and employees, depending on their job positions, perform office culture by doing specific jobs associated with their professional tasks. Our officers and employees build a working spirit with responsibility, closeness to the smaller units, scientific working methods to successfully complete assigned tasks. From 2019 to now, 100% of civil servants and employees of the Provincial Women’s Union have achieved the title of advanced labor or higher. Ms. Le Thi Thom, Deputy Head of the Commission of Propaganda and Education – Policy and Law under Provincial Women’s Union, said: “Performing office culture should only focus on dress and communication, but also show in work, discipline, the management of leaders, coordination with professional commissions. Therefore, I regularly practice better morality, actively research, advise, and report on time in assigned areas such as gender equality; domestic violence prevention and control; supervision and social criticism… Thereby, we renew forms of propaganda, support and protection of the legitimate rights and interests of women and children in the province.”

Another highlight is that office culture is not only performed at the Provincial Women’s Union office, but also spread among union officials at all levels. Every year, the Provincial Women’s Union has oriented and directed smaller unions to promptly introduce emulation movements, including the movement to perform office culture to Union’s officials, members, women who are officials and civil servants. At the same time, it also requests unions at all levels to strengthen the application of information technology, innovate in the form of propaganda, pay more attention to the grassroots. Thereby, it will build a team of exemplary, dedicated, professional, responsible union’s officials, members and women who are officials and civil servants serving the People. Ms. Ma Thi Thuong, Khon Na village, Thong Nhat commune, Loc Binh district said: “Women’s Union officers at all levels are very friendly, always listening and sharing with members. During the propaganda sessions, they not only presented, but also interacted and raised questions, therefore it was easier for us to take in the content. Since then, we has actively participated in local movements and activities.”

Thanks to the effective performance of office culture, it has contributed to improving the quality of the Union’s activities and building a strong Union. That result is reflected in many achievements that the Provincial Women’s Union has gained in recent years, the targets and tasks of the Union’s activities every year have been achieved and exceeded. Typically, in 2021, the Provincial Women’s Union received the Second-class Independence Medal. In May 2022, the Provincial Women’s Union received a certificate of merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee for outstanding achievements in implementing the emulation movement “Officials, civil servants and public employees of Lang Son province emulate in performing office culture” in the period of 2019 – 2022.
