A leader of the Provincial People’s Committee inspects the prevention of COVID-19 and new rural development in Loc Binh district

On September 6, the delegation of the Provincial People’s Committee led by Mr. Luong Trong Quynh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, inspected the prevention of COVID-19 pandemic and the implementation of new rural development in Tam Gia commune, Loc Binh district.

According to the report at the inspection, the vaccination against COVID-19 in the district is quick, safe and effective. The cover of vaccination with 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th doses for subjects aged 18 and over reached from 90 to 100%. The rate of injection of the 1st and 2nd doses for subjects from 12 to 17 years old was approximately 100%; those of the 3rd injection reached 68%. The rate of the1st injection for children from 5 to under 12 years old reached 94%, that of the second injection was 69%.

In Tam Gia commune, the prevention of COVID-19 pandemic has been well carried out, the vaccination against COVID-19 has covered different groups of subjects with high rate. Specifically, the rate of injections of 1st, 2nd and 3rd injections for subjects aged 18 and older reached from 88 to 98%; the rate of vaccination with 1st and 2nd doses for subjects from 5 to under 12 years old reached from 87 to 96%; the rate of injection of 1st and 2nd doses for subjects from 12 to 17 years old was from 88 to 92%.

Regarding new rural development, the total investment capital for new rural development of the district in 2022 is estimated at over 65.6 billion VND. By the end of August 2022, there are 6/19 communes achieving 19 criteria (Huu Khanh commune meets advanced new rural area standards), 1/19 communes achieving 18 criteria, 12/19 communes achieving from 5 to 9 criteria. Up to now, on average, each commune has achieved 11.68 criteria.

In 2022, Tam Gia commune is one of 10 communes striving to meet new rural standards in the province. Up to now, the commune has achieved 9/19 new rural development criteria, those that have not been met are mainly related to infrastructure development such as building new primary and secondary schools, communal cultural house, communal police office, sport ground…

At the inspection, the delegates analyzed and assessed the current situation, difficulties and obstacles in the new rural development in the area. Thereby, units have proposed specific solutions to remove difficulties, speed up to meet the unsatisfactory criteria in order to help Tam Gia commune meet new rural standard as planned.

Concluding the inspection, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee acknowledged and highly appreciated the pandemic prevention and control and the vaccination against COVID-19 of Loc Binh district and Tam Gia commune. He suggested that Loc Binh district continue to seriously, drastically and effectively implement pandemic prevention and control measures; focus on reviewing subjects that haven’t received vaccination and get them vaccinated with safety; promote propaganda about the meaning and benefits of vaccination against COVID-19 to the people.

In building new-styled rural area, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee requested the Party committees and authorities of Loc Binh district and Tam Gia commune to strengthen the propaganda, mobilization of resources, and effective implementation of emulation programs and movements in new rural development; to focus on directing to meet the criteria on traffic and basic development; to continue to mobilize the participation of the whole political system, to highly focus on implementing the tasks according to the set plan.

At the same time, the district was required to strengthen the inspection, to improve the role of the steering committee, the management board for the development of new rural areas at all levels, to pay attention to maintaining and improving the quality of the standards that have been met, to effectively support and build production models.

Previously, the delegation inspected the vaccination against COVID-19 at the injection point of Tam Gia Commune Health Station; a number of infrastructure works, production development models in Tam Gia commune.
