Reviewing public opinion work in 2022

On the afternoon of December 13, the Propaganda and Education Commission of the Provincial Party Committee held a conference to review the public opinion work in 2022 and the tasks in 2023. In 2022, the Propaganda and Education Commission at all levels advised the Party committees to lead and direct the implementation of Conclusion No. 100-KL/TW dated August 18, 2014 of the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee on renewing and improving the quality of investigation, capture and research of public opinion; regularly following the orientation documents of superiors to direct, manage, urge and shape the activities of public opinion collaborators; promptly capturing and orienting the thoughts and aspirations of the people on the Party’s guidelines, the State’s policies and laws in all fields of social life.

The organization and staff working in public opinion is consolidated regularly. Currently, the whole province has 282 public opinion collaborators at all levels, which are regularly consolidated and have clear operating regulations. This team reports in accordance with regulations, promptly advises the Party committees and authorities to direct, resolve and orient information, and promptly prevent “hot spots“ in the locality.

Capturing, collecting and reporting the orientation of public opinion has always received the attention of Party committees and authorities at all levels. Through reporting public opinion of the collaborators, the Party committees and authorities can promptly propose measures to lead and direct the implementation of the guidelines and policies of the Party, policies and laws of the State, timely orient people’s thoughts and create trust among them.

In addition, the training of how to do public opinion work has received great attention. In 2022, the Propaganda and Education Commission of the Provincial Party Committee organized professional training for the staff working on public opinion investigation; supported in professional training for a number of units in the area; regularly provided professional guidance to the Propaganda and Education on capturing public opinion.

At the conference, the delegates focused on clarifying the achieved results, mentioned some difficulties and limitations in the process of implementing tasks such as collecting and reporting late and subjective sensitive information, complaints; reports of some units, some collaborators of public opinion are not clear enough…

Regarding the direction and tasks in the coming time, Mr. Phung Quang Hoi, Head of the Propaganda and Education Commission of the Provincial Party Committee, requested Propaganda and Education Commissions at all levels to continue to pay attention to the work of public opinion according to the orientation and direction of the central and provincial superiors; to effectively implement conclusions, directives and resolutions. He also asked them to equip officials, party members and the people with right information and to orient their thoughts; to provide newly-updated knowledge, skills, information, documents, methods and experience in investigating, capturing and researching public opinion for public opinion collaborators.

Moreover, public opinion collaborators at all levels should actively capture, synthesize, and analyze the ideological status and opinion of officials, party members and people about international, domestic and local events; objectively, and promptly report to leaders at the same level for solutions…
