Actively ensuring sources of goods at the end of the year and on the occasion of Lunar New Year

That the2023 and Lunar New Year happen at almost the same time results in the increasing demand for shopping and consuming all kinds of goods compared to other time of year. In order to ensure the supply of goods to serve the people, following the direction of the Provincial People’s Committee, the Department of Industry and Trade, related sectors and businesses are urgently stockpiling goods.

With the flexible management of solutions of all levels and sectors from the central to local levels, the economic situation in 2022 has been better than in 2021, therefore, the commodity market in the last month of 2022 and the Lunar New Year is forecasted to be much busier than the same period last year. According to calculations by the provincial industry and trade industry, the demand for shopping for all kinds of goods, especially essential items such as rice, cooking oil, fresh food, processed food, sugar, milk… will increase by more than 10%. . . compared to the months in 2022.

According to the Department of Industry and Trade, the average rice output of the whole province is 130 thousand tons/year while the average rice consumption demand of the whole province is 60,000 tons/year. This means the production output in the area has basically met the demand for this item. For fresh food (red meat, poultry, aquatic products), the output in the area is currently 37,500 tons/year (of which the poultry output reaches 10,000 tons/year; the buffalo meat/beef output reaches 7,500 tons/year; pork output is about 20,000 tons/year), meeting about 70% of the province’s consumption demand in the year. Regarding green vegetables, the local output reaches more than 100,000 tons/year, meeting 80% of the province’s demand.

Mr. Lieu Anh Minh, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade said: “Basically, the province ensures the local supply of essential items. However, at the end of the year, especially in the Lunar New Year, the demand for goods is increasing, therefore, the supply of goods, especially essential products produced in the province, will certainly not be able to meet the needs of the people. Therefore, following the direction of the Provincial People’s Committee, the Department of Industry and Trade announced the plan to prepare Tet goods to the branches and districts, city to make plan to ensure the source of goods. At the same time, we urge and support businesses to maximize resources to stockpile goods to serve the consumption needs of the people of the province.”

Dang Van Dung, Director of Winmart+ in Lang Son said: “Currently, in Lang Son province, there are 27 Winmart+ convenience stores opened in 10 districts and Lang Son city. In order to meet the consumption demand at the end of the year and the Lunar New Year 2023, the unit has actively stocked up from 10-25% (depending on the item), of which the largest reserve is still cooking oils, confectionery, milk and sugar, clean rice, fresh meat… Moreover, from now until the Lunar New Year, the Winmar+ convenience store chain in Lang Son also sells all products at a discount of 5-10% (depending on the item). . ) to stabilize market prices at the end of the year, and at the same time attract consumers to shop at Winmar+.”

Hoang Nguyen Trading Joint Stock Company reserves cooking oil products to serve consumers during the Lunar New Year

In addition to the Winmart+ store chain, at this time, large goods distribution and supply businesses in the province such as Hoang Nguyen Trading Joint Stock Company, Thien Phu Trading and Construction Company Limited, Thanh Do Joint Stock Company … and supermarkets in the city such as Dong Tien, Thanh Do, Binh Cam Mart, Winmart… all imported more goods and increased the reserved goods by 10 – 30% compared to other time of year. In particular, regarding rice, distribution businesses still actively import about 7,000 tons and about 10,000 tons of fresh food (mainly pork and poultry).

According to Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade Lieu Anh Minh, in addition to proactively stockpile goods, distribution and supply businesses in the province also promote sales through online channels and use electronic payments, provide delivery to customers and actively connect with other provinces and cities, stay ready to supply and bring goods to Lang Son as soon as there is high demand and fluctuations occur.

In addition to mobilizing and supporting businesses to actively reserve goods to ensure supply at the end of the year and the Lunar New Year in 2023, the province’s industry and trade sector have cooperated with related sectors, districts and Lang Son city to organize 12 trade fairs in order to enable Vietnam products to reach local customers. Though trade fairs, businesses participants will also implement price stabilization under the provincial program. Accordingly, most goods, especially essential goods, will be reduced by about 5-10% compared to the market price.

It is known that in addition to organizing the fair, from December 15 (the last lunar month of the year), large goods supply and distribution businesses in the province will install booths to open about 50 selling points at favorable prices for consumers.

Through discussions with leaders of the Department of Industry and Trade, it is known that on the occasion of the 2023 Lunar New Year, the province’s policy is to call for “socialization” of price stabilization activities. Accordingly, answering the call of the province, large goods supply businesses in the province have committed to flexibly provide special discount programs, selling at one price, etc. to create price stability during the Lunar New Year.

With the initiative in the State management of all levels and sectors and the companionship of retail goods supply and distribution businesses in the province, it will contribute to ensuring the supply and demand of goods at the end of 2022 and the Lunar New Year 2023. Most importantly, the timely stockpiling and price stabilizing programs at the end of the year and especially in the Lunar New Year have contributed to ensuring market stability of local goods. Thereby, there will be no shortage of goods and too high prices during the traditional Lunar New Year of the nation.
