The 2022 “January Star”

With the effort in study and dynamism in union and association work – Student Hoang Thanh Liem (born in 2000, Tan Thanh commune, Cao Loc district), studied in the Nursing Class 14, Lang Son Medical College. At the beginning of January 2023, He was the only representative of Lang Son to receive the “January Star” award in 2022 awarded by the Central Vietnam Student Association.

The “January Star” award is a noble award of the Central Vietnam Student Association, the award was reviewed annually to commend and reward domestic and foreign students who are officers of the student union, student movement, union work and school youth movement. In order to achieve this prestigious award, Student Hoang Thanh Liem has made constant efforts in learning and movement activities.

Liem shared: I deeply admire the doctors, nurses, “white blouse soldiers” who do not mind the difficulties day and night to take care of and cure patients, so I decided to study at the Lang Son Medical College. For me, studying is always a top priority, so I always try to maintain the best academic results with the hope that when I graduate from school, I can find a job according to my training and passion.

Right from the moment I entered the lecture hall, I clearly defined my learning goals and found scientific and suitable learning methods for myself. In class, Liem always listens to the teacher’s lectures and takes full notes, memorizing the knowledge from basic to advanced to be able to practice well. With a positive study attitude, during the years of studying at the school, he always achieved excellent academic results and excellent training scores.

Not only has excellent academic records, Liem also asserts himself in many fields, especially in union work at schools and unions at all levels. Liem is currently a member of the Executive Committee of the Student Union of Lang Son Medical College. Liem always actively participates in activities and movements launched by the school, the school union, the union delegation such as “Red Journey”; “Red Spring Festival – Red Sunday”, he is a volunteer to support injection, sample collection… in the prevention and control of the COVID-19 pandemic in the province; he participated in “Green Sunday”, “Green Summer”, “Winter Volunteering”…

Sharing about participating in activities and movements, Thanh Liem said: Participating in group activities and associations helps me have more experiences and opportunities to train myself and become more mature. In order to balance between studying and participating in union activities, I always build a specific timetable for each week and month, from which I can complete everything in the most efficient and reasonable way.

With outstanding achievements in learning, training and union work, Student Hoang Thanh Liem has received many certificates of merit and certificates of merit at all levels of unions and associations. For example, in 2022, he was awarded a certificate of merit by the Vietnamese Student Association of Lang Son province in the campaign “Vietnamese students – Beautiful stories” in the school year 2021-2022. He was awarded a certificate of merit by the Vietnam Youth Union of Lang Son province for outstanding achievements in voluntary blood donation on the occasion of the 6th anniversary of the establishment of the Voluntary Blood Donation Club of Lang Son Medical College (June 3, 2016 – June 3, 2022). The Executive Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Lang Son province awarded the certificate of merit “Advanced youth follow Uncle Ho’s words in Lang Son province for the 2017- 2022 period” The Vietnamese Student Association of Lang Son province awarded the certificate of “The Student With Five Good Merits” at the provincial level for the academic year 2021-2022… Especially, at the beginning of January 2023, Liem was honored to receive the noble award “January Star” in 2022 by the Central Vietnam Student Association.
