The delegation of UNESCO consultants surveys a number of potential tourist spots in the province

In 4 days, from March 11 to March 14, the Management Board of Lang Son Geopark coordinated with the delegation of UNESCO consultants and Vietnamese experts led by Guy Martini – International Senior Consultant, President of the UNESCO Global Geoparks Council to survey a number of tourist attractions and potential sites in Lang Son city, Cao Loc district and 6 districts in Lang Son Geopark (Huu Lung, Van Quan, Binh Gia, Bac Son, Chi Lang, Loc Binh).

Within the survey, the delegation visited a number of tourist attractions and potential locations such as Vu Lang school in Vu Lang commune as a special national historical site; Nong Luc Communal House, Hung Vu commune; Quynh Son Community Cultural Tourism Village, Bac Quynh Commune (Bac Son District); Phai Danh lake, Hoang Van Thu commune; Tham Khuyen – Tham Hai cave, Tan Van commune (Binh Gia district); Dong Dang Mother Goddess Temple – Dong Dang Station – Huu Nghi International Border Gate, Dong Dang Fortress, Thuy Mon Dinh (Cao Loc District); Tam Thanh cave, To Thi mountain, Mac Dynasty citadel (Lang Son city); Na Duong coal mine (Loc Binh district)…

At the destinations, the delegation focused on learning and evaluating the advantages and disadvantages of becoming a tourist destination, especially the location for the construction of parking lot and the installation of signposts and introduction display of the destination. Through this, the delegation hoped to find suitable solutions to form a tourist route connecting potential tourist destinations in the province and Lang Son Geopark.

This is also a content in the development of Lang Son Geopark in 2023, thereby, it contributes to completing the application which will be submitted to UNESCO for recognition of Lang Son Geopark as a Global Geopark.
