This is the second time Lang Son has hosted the programme following the event in 2013.

The tourism programme will feature a wide range of activities, including a conference and exhibition to popularise culture and tourism products of the Vietnamese localities and Chinese region, art performances, exploration of tours in Lang Son province, a tour guiding competition, and sport activities, among others.

Over the recent past, the local tourism promotion centre has worked to popularise the programme on its website and fanpage as well as the province’s smart tourism application.

More than 900 square metres of large posters have been installed at key regions in the province such as Lang Son city, and National Highway 1A running through Huu Lung, Chi Lang and Cao Loc districts. Besides, the programme’s schedule has been informed to local and national press.

Staff at the local Tourism Promotion Centre prepare documents and souvenirs for display at the programme.

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has assigned the local Tourism Promotion Centre to coordinate with other agencies to promote tourism potentials in the six Viet Bac provinces. The centre has held conferences to promote tourism in Lang Son and Guangxi, China and explored tours and routes in Lang Son. Preparatory works at explored destinations in the districts of Bac Son, Van Lang and Cao Loc and Lang Son city have been completed.

Head of Van Lang district’s culture and information division Nguyen Thi Hien said the division has actively coordinated with the Tourism Promotion Centre to organise an array of events to promote the district’s tourism. For example, it has developed four tours connecting destinations in the district and two others connecting with destinations in other districts of the province.

It has also installed a board providing written information about life and career of Hoang Van Thu and an information desk at the memorial complex dedicated to him while introducing the district’s tourism publications and products, she said.

The programme’s preparatory works have been basically completed. It is expected to wrap up in success and leave a deep impression among visitors, contributing to foster effective and sustainable tourism./.
