In addition to the Market Management Team No. 5, the Market Management Team in charge of the districts and Lang Son city also strengthened the inspection of establishments dealing in essential goods, food, and consumer goods. According to the report of the Provincial Market Management Department, from the beginning of June 2023 to July 10, 2023, the affiliated market management teams inspected 236 business establishments. After the inspection, 191 of them did not list the sell prices, sold goods with different price than that of manufacturers, sold goods that are not of good quality, of unknown origin, and fake goods. In particular, through inspection, the market management force discovered 29 establishments dealing in consumer goods with acts of speculation and hoarding.

We focus on regularly controlling business activities at markets, supermarkets, shopping malls…; closely monitoring the declaration and listing of prices as well as the compliance with the law in price management, preventing hoarding, speculation and unreasonable price increase.”

According to the leader of the Provincial Market Management Department, with the assigned tasks, the market management force would continue to closely follow the market and price developments, in which, focus on controlling the products with great influence such as petrol and oil, at the same time, grasp the supply and demand situation in the market to promptly implement stabilization activities.

Regarding this content, Mr. Lieu Anh Minh, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade said: “With the increasing price of goods and services recently, in order to promptly manage and stabilize the prices of the above items, in the provincial market, the province’s industry and trade sector has been coordinating with relevant units to review and capture price fluctuations of goods that have an impact on the consumer price index and people’s lives. In particular, the department also works with large goods distribution businesses in the area to capture the supply of goods as well as the declaration of distribution prices of all kinds of goods in the market, thereby requiring businesses to prepare timely discount plans and programs for some food items and essential goods.”

Mr. Nong Thanh Nghia, Deputy Director of Dong Tien Supermarket Trading Joint Stock Company, Lang Son city shared: “The company is committed to selling goods with quality assurance and at the same price listed by the manufacturer. In addition, to stimulate consumer demand, the company also implemented some 5-10% discount programs for some consumer goods.”

It can be seen that the Department of Industry and Trade, the provincial market management force … have been strengthening monitoring the market to promptly detect and strictly handle establishments that have acts of speculation and hoarding, especially those unreasonably increasing price of goods, causing market instability and affecting the interests of consumers. However, according to authorities, prices of all kinds of goods on the market from now until the end of 2023 will continue to experience complicated developments, especially, the 20.8% increase of base salary from July 1, 2020 and the increase in price of electricity, gasoline, coal, etc will increase the price level in the market. Therefore, in the coming time, relevant agencies should continue to closely follow market movements, grasp the situation of goods supply and demand, thereby taking measures to control and stabilize the market in the most effective way, thereby ensuring the interests of consumers in the province.
