Opening the 2023 custard apple, agricultural specialties and OCOP products promotion week of Lang Son province

On August 24, in Hanoi, the Agricultural Trade Promotion Center under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development coordinated with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Lang Son province and related agencies to organize the opening of the fair for agricultural products and regional specialties; the 2023 custard apple, agricultural specialties and OCOP products promotion week.

 Attending the opening ceremony were leaders of a number of units under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development; leaders of a number of departments, sectors, People’s Committees of districts and city in the province.

Attending this fair, Lang Son province has 32 booths from all districts and city, displaying and introducing Lang Son’s strong specialty products such as custard apple, star anise, black jelly, specialty vegetables of all kinds, tea of all kinds; medicinal products of morinda officinalis, true cardamom, honey… and many OCOP products of the province.

Over the years, Lang Son province has paid attention to direct the development and has formed concentrated commodity production areas bringing practical efficiency. The development of safe agricultural product production areas and the implementation of traceability of goods are focused on implementation. Up to now, the province has more than 4,000 hectares of crops of all kinds produced and certified to VietGAP, GlobalGAP and organic standards; nearly 900 hectares were granted planting area codes….

As for custard apple products, currently in Lang Son province, there is a concentrated custard apple production area in Chi Lang and Huu Lung districts. Chi Lang custard apple have been granted protection certificates and trademark registration certificates by the National Office of Intellectual Property and was recognized by the Vietnam Record Organization as a record of the specialty of Na Chi Lang custard apple of Lang Son province, recognized in the Top 50 famous fruit specialties in Vietnam; was honored as “Vietnamese agricultural gold brand”.

 Speaking at the opening ceremony, leader of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of the province wished to cooperate with businesses and cooperatives to invest in agricultural and rural development; at the same time, he wanted the units to create the most favorable conditions for businesses to participate in advertising and trade promotion, connecting supply – demand for products through fairs, exhibitions, events honoring, promoting, agricultural product week to introduce products in the locality inside and outside the province; create conditions for business owners to introduce and promote products, build trademarks and brands, expand consumption markets, and seek partners to make links in production and consumption of products. … contribute to raising the brand, bringing OCOP products in the province to consumers inside and outside the province.

Within the framework of the fair,  the organizers organized promotional events to introduce products, activities to connect with product consumption such as livestream to sell product, give advice and direct instructions on how to join some e-commerce platforms and practice opening accounts/channels, make livestream content for sales via social networks and some other cultural activities…
