Lang Son wins 1 first prize and 1 fourth prize in the contest “Women start-up with indigenous resources” in the final round of the Northern region

According to the Provincial Women’s Union (WU), on the afternoon of September 8, in Nam Dinh city, Nam Dinh province, the Vietnam Women’s Union held an award ceremony of the contest “Women start-up with indigenous resources” in the Northern region in 2023.

Accordingly, 32 excellent startup projects and ideas of WU members from 18 Northern provinces and cities were honored and awarded at the final round. The projects covered many fields such as agriculture, forestry, fishery, manufacturing industry; health care, beauty; education, travel…

The Organizing Committee awarded 1 special prize, 3 first prizes, 5 second prizes, 7 third prizes, and 16 fourth prizes to the projects. Among them, Lang Son province has two projects including “Building a value chain of star anise and medicinal herbs under the canopy of star anise forest from native resources associated with livelihoods for minor ethnic women in Tan Van commune, Binh Gia district, Lang Son province”  of Ms. Hoang Bich Ngoc, Director of the Women’s Agro-forestry Cooperative in Na Pai village, Tan Van commune, Binh Gia district which won the fourth prize and “Developing the value chain of organic wind-hanging Vanh Khuyen persimmons to create jobs and sustainable livelihoods for Tay and Nung ethnic women in the Xu Lang border area” by Ms. Vuong Thi Thuong, Director of Toan Thuong Agricultural Products Cooperative, Na Sam town, Van Lang district which won the first prize.

After the regional contest, the Organizing Committee will select excellent projects to enter the national final round, expected to be held in October 2023.
