Provincial Red Cross Society holds talks with Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Regional Branch of the Red Cross Society of China (RCSC)

Attending the talks were Vice President of the Vietnam RCS Vu Thanh Luu, leaders of some departments, commissions, sectors of the province and leaders of the Red Cross Society of Lang Son, Cao Bang, Ha Giang, Son La, Lai Chau, Lao Cai, Dien Bien, Quang Ninh provinces. On the side of Guangxi (China), there was a leader of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Regional Branch of the RCSC.

The cooperation program between the RSC of Lang Son province and the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Regional Branch of the RCSC was established by both sides in October 2019. In the past time, the RCS of the province and region has implemented many practical activities such as supporting masks and medical supplies to prevent and control the COVID-19 pandemic. By early 2023, the Memorandum of Cooperation between the two sides for the period 2023 – 2025 was signed.

In the meeting, the leaders of the RCS of the two sides exchanged and discussed humanitarian issues such as focusing on the core “Three Rescues” (emergency rescue, humanitarian aid and emergency first aid), cooperation in first aid training and support for children under 14 years old with congenital heart disease; building RCS first aid and emergency stations… Through the talks, the RCS of the province and region would contribute to further promoting the cooperative relationship, coordinating the implementation of humanitarian activities and realizing the contents of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the two sides and moving forward to rapid and sustainable cooperative activities.

Speaking at the talks, the Vice Chairman of the Vietnam RCS emphasized that in recent years, Vietnam RCS and China RCS have cooperated in many activities, coordinated to carry out humanitarian activities including mutual support when there are natural disasters or disasters through humanitarian aid activities between two national RSC, coordinated in health care and disaster prevention and response activities and introduced about avian flu prevention and control in border provinces. Particularly, Lang Son Provincial RSC (Vietnam) and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Regional Branch of the RCSC (China) have had many practical cooperation and humanitarian support activities. He expressed his expectation that in the coming time, the RSC of border provinces would continue to promote cooperation and improve the effectiveness of humanitarian activities.

On this occasion, the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Regional Branch of the RCSC presented financial support for the purchase of a specialized car to serve the activities of the Lang Son Provincial RSC with an amount of 410 million VND.
