The delegation of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the Vietnam Women’s Union worked with the Provincial Labor Confederation

On December 25, the delegation of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the Vietnam Women’s Union, led by Do Hong Van, Member of the Presidium, Head of Women’s Committee of Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, came to work with the Provincial Confederation of Labor on women’s work and the work coordination program for 2022 – 2023. Participating in the working session were leaders of the Provincial Labor Confederation; Representatives of relevant departments and divisions under the Provincial Labor Confederation; Representative of the Labor Confederation of Lang Son city.

According to the report, currently, the proportion of female union members accounts for 59.8% of the total number of trade union members in the province; The total number of mass women’s unions is 845 (reaching 100% of the total number of units eligible for establishment). Women’s activities and the movement of female workers, civil servants, and laborers always receive attention, direction, and facilitation from Party committees and authorities at all levels. Provincial trade unions at all levels have proactively and effectively implemented patriotic emulation movements among female union members, workers, especially the emulation movement “Women actively study, creatively work and nurture happy families” associated with the movement “Building Lang Son women in the new era”.

In the 2022-2023 period, the work of caring for and protecting the legal and legitimate rights and interests of female union members and workers will continue to be improved. Typically, trade unions at all levels have effectively implemented the work of negotiating, signing and implementing collective labor agreements. Accordingly, many beneficial contents for female workers have been included in the agreement such as: support regime for female workers giving birth up to 10 million VND/time; employees with children who get married are entitled to 3 days off; Pregnant women are reduced to 1 hour of work per day; female workers with small children sent to daycare or kindergarten are supported 100 thousand VND/child each month… The coordination between the Confederation of Labor and the Women’s Union at the same level was carried out through 16 specific activities, attracting nearly 18,800 union members, workers and women’s union members to participate.

Also in the program, delegates heard from representatives of the Grassroots Trade Union of Huy Hoang Co., Ltd. (Lang Son city)Typical unit employing many female workers reported on the results of female labor activities.  At the same time, delegates exchanged and discussed difficulties and obstacles in the process of implementing activities; further clarify the results achieved and share experiences, suggestions and recommendations to improve the effectiveness of women’s work in trade unions at all levels.

Speaking in the working program, the head of the working group recognized the results that the Provincial Labor Federation has achieved in the work of women’s work in recent times, and at the same time, received suggestions and recommendations from delegates. The Chairwoman also hoped that in the coming time, trade unions at all levels in the province will proactively develop specific plans for women’s work right from the beginning of the year; Continue to coordinate closely with the Women’s Union at the same level to well implement the coordination program; continue to innovate and pay attention to building models to attract female union members and workers; continue to strengthen propaganda and dissemination of new policy regimes…
