To date, Lang Son has recorded no infection cases. As of 4pm on March 2, 1,728 Vietnamese citizens returning from China and epidemic-hit countries were quarantined at three areas in the province. 1,089 cases have been allowed to return home while 639 others are still under quarantine and monitoring.

At the meeting, participants proposed a lot of measures to prevent the epidemic effectively such as supplementing medical equipment for forces in border areas and calling for private funding to buy medical supplies in service of the virus prevention.

Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Ho Tien Thieu recognised local efforts in the fight and asked all departments, agencies and sectors to define the prevention of COVID-19 as a key, regular, and urgent task.

In the coming time, it is necessary to continue implementing prevention measures at border areas and border gates such as doing well quarantine work and promoting private contributions to buy medical equipment.

Along with the epidemic prevention, the province needs to strengthen socio-economic development measures to fulfill tasks set for 2020.
