Meeting held to prepare for investment promotion conference 2019

(LSO) – Vice Secretary of the Lang Son Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Pham Ngoc Thuong chaired a meeting on September 6 to review the preparation for the province’s investment promotion conference in 2019.

The conference is slated for September 30 at the provincial convention centre under the theme “Lang Son – Destination for Success”.

So far, preparations for the event have been basically completed. It is expected to draw about 500 delegates, including leaders of the central government, localities, a number of diplomatic agencies and international organizations, along with businesses in and outside the province.

During the conference, a ceremony will be held to hand over decisions approving investment intentions as well as memoranda of understanding on investment of a number of major projects.

In preparing for the event, Lang Son has sent a number of working groups to work with businesses to call for investment, including big names like Vingroup, Kosy, Intracom, Apec, and Samsung.

The organization board will hold a business promotion conference on the threshold of the event to introduce the strength and potential of the locality.

At the meeting, participants gave their ideas on issues related to the conference from reception to logistics, communications, security and contents of the conference. Specific tasks were assigned to each sub-committee involving in the organization of the event.

The meeting evaluated the progress of the Bac Giang-Lang Son expressway BOT project, with the aim of technically launching the road before the conference on September 29, and the production of a video clip introducing the province’s potential, strengths, preferential policies for investors and prioritized sectors calling for investment.

Concluding the meeting, Thuong lauded the efforts of the organization board in preparing for the conference.

He asked the Department of Planning and Investment to review contents of the event, while coordinating with other departments and sectors to prepare information to provide to the media and enterprises.

Communication agencies of the province should actively update the public on the schedule of the event, he said, requesting sub-committees in charge of services to assign detailed tasks for each member, with attention paid to receiving and guiding guests, and ensuring food safety, environmental sanitation and order and security.

He also asked the BOT Bac Giang company to make necessary preparation for the ceremony to open the Bac Giang-Lang Son expressway to the traffic.

Thuong stressed that the organization board must go ahead and complete remaining  preparations for the conference to ensure its efficiency./.
