Lang Son opens Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day 2023

On the evening of April 14, at Ky Lua Walking street, Lang Son city, the Department of Information and Communications in collaboration with the People’s Committee of Lang Son city, the Department of Education and Training, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism organized the opened the 2nd Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day in 2023.

Attending the opening ceremony were Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Luong Trong Quynh; the leaders of departments, boards, sectors , unions of the province, People’s Committees of districts and Lang Son city and a large number of people and tourists.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee requested the departments, boards, sectors, People’s Committees of districts, Lang Son city, relevant agencies and units to popularize and encourage the participation of the community and all social resources to invest in the development of reading culture and organize activities in order to make Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day truly become a festival of the community, building and shaping the beauty of reading culture in the cultural and spiritual life of the people. At the same time, they should introduce, guide on how to choose and read books on the mass media in a systematic and appropriate way for each audience. For schools, it was necessary to innovate teaching and learning methods, to build reading habits and reading skills for pupils and students and to give them excitement when reading through many forms.

At the opening ceremony, delegates, people and tourists also enjoyed cultural performances, story-telling performances, and stage adaptations of literary works. At the same time, they visited the painting and book display booths at Ky Lua Walking street.

On this occasion, the Organizing Committee presented books to 20 disadvantaged students in the city.
