Preparation for celebration of Hoang Van Thu’s 110th birthday examined

(LSO) – Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Duong Xuan Huyen on October 29 led a working delegation to review communication and decoration work for celebration of Hoang Van Thu’s 110th birthday (November 4).

According to reports from the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the People’s Committees of Lang Son city and Van Lang district, communication work has been paid due attention, with 450 writings, reportages and documentary films about the career and life of Hoang Van Thu run in the Lang Son newspaper and broadcast on local television.

Thousands of national flags and posters have been hung along major streets, while 25 art performances have been organised, the reports said.

Huyen spoke highly of competent authorities’ efforts to prepare for the celebration, and called for further coordination to promote communication work, ensure traffic safety and security.

He suggested increasing the number of tour guides to serve tourists during the celebration, and asked Lang Son city People’s Committee to create favourable conditions for local staff, teachers and students to take part in fact-finding trips to the memorial house dedicated to Hoang Van Thu at No.8 on Ky Lua street, Hoang Van Thu ward.

Besides, he ordered more flower decoration along major streets, saying this must be done by November 1, 2019.

As part its programme, the delegation made a field trip to the provincial convention centre, National Highway 1A section from Ban Thi in Chi Lang district to Dong Dang town in Cao Loc district, the Hoang Van Thu memorial house, and the memorial area dedicated to Hoang Van Thu in Hoang Van Thu commune, Van Lang district./.
