Bac Giang-Lang Son Expressway creates economic momentum

(LSO) – The first section of the Bac Giang-Lang Son Expressway, stretching 64km, will be put into trial operation on September 29 after two years of construction.

Nguyen Quang Vinh, General Director of Bac Giang-Lang Son BOT JSC, said major items of the stretch have been basically completed.

The project’s investor has coordinated with local authorities, departments and agencies to prepare for the September 29 ceremony.

Finising touch given to the first section of the Bac Giang-Lang Son Expressway project, running from Bac Giang city to Chi Lang district.

Up to 98 percent of workload of the section is finished. Currently, Huu Lung and Chi Lang districts, cut through by the expressway, have devised detailed plans for the trial opening, while implementing works regarding logistics and security.

Local people and leaders as well as businesses rejoice the event as once put into service, the expressway will create momentum for the provincial socio-economic development.

Tran Thi Nhan from Na Hoa hamlet, Ho Son commune, Huu Lung district, said she and other villagers looked forwards to the completion of the project which has given a facelift to roads in the hamlet and opened up opportunities for local economic development.

Bui Quoc Khanh, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Huu Lung district, said the expressway, together with Provincial Highways 340B and 242, that connects Huu Lung with other localities in Lang Son and its neighbouring provinces will facilitate the local economic development.

Nguyen Van Dung, President of the Lang Son Automobile Transport Association, said the first section of the expressway, running from Bac Giang province to Chi Lang district, will help shorten travel time by one hour as compared with National Highway 1A, thus reducing cost for businesses and ensuring product quality.

The expressway will also benefit businesses operating in the spheres of export-import and transportation, while spurring Lang Son’s economic development and enhance the locality’s trading capacity through border gates.

Apart from Lang Son, it will create momentum for the development of other localities in the country. /.
