Some high-class cakes such as cordyceps, abalone, bird’s nest … cost from 140,000 to 800,000 VND / cake. In addition to traditional cakes on the market, there are also a number of modern cakes suitable for many customer segments. Cakes are packaged in boxes of 2, 4 and 6 depending on the needs of customers. In addition, there are products specifically for vegetarians, vegans, and people with diabetes.

According to a reporter’s survey, the price of mooncakes this year increased slightly from 2,000 to 5,000 VND/product compared to the previous year. However, purchasing power increased by about 5 to 10% compared to last year because the pandemic was basically controlled and the economy gradually recovered and developed.

Mr. Hoang Duc Giang, a salesman at Kinh Do mooncake stall, Hung Vuong street, Chi Lang ward, Lang Son city said: Unlike every year, this year, from the 5th day of the 8th lunar month, people began bustling shopping for moon cakes. In order to meet the needs of customers, besides the traditional line of baked goods and flexible cakes, Kinh Do has launched a new line of mooncakes with new flavors such as Roasted chicken with X.O sauce; Abalone; Five-grain Sausage… with prices ranging from 95,000 to 167,000 VND/box of 210g are chosen by many customers. . In addition to buying directly at the store, consumers can also order directly through the company’s website, Facebook, Zalo, etc.

In the face of increasingly fierce competition from famous domestic cake brand, Lang Son’s traditional mooncakes are still trusted by many consumers, chosen by unique features in the way of processing in accordance with the taste of the people of  Xu Lang.

As one of the prestigious and long-standing mooncake production facilities in the province (with product announcement records with the Provincial Food Safety and Hygiene Sub-Department), at this time, Nong Tuyet Bakery production facility, Xe Lan village, Chi Lang commune, Trang Dinh district is operating at full capacity to provide delicious batches of moon cakes with traditional flavors. Mrs. Nong Thi Tuyet, owner of the production facility shared: This year, around July 27 (lunar calendar), customers ordered grilled cakes and sticky cakes to serve the Mid-Autumn Festival. With the selling price from 13,000 to 25,000 VND/cake, every day, the establishment sells more than 10,000 cakes to the market for customers inside and outside the province. This year, the family designed the packaging with more eye-catching and sophisticated designs, and at the same time, produced new flavors such as grapes, green tea, zucchini, ..

In order to contribute to ensuring food safety and hygiene, preventing the risk of food poisoning, and protecting the interests and health of consumers during this year’s Mid-Autumn Festival, functional agencies and units have strengthened inspection of moon cake production and trading activities in the area. Specifically, from August 29 to now, the province’s interdisciplinary inspection team on ensuring food hygiene and safety during the Mid-Autumn Festival 2022 has inspected 15 mooncake production facilities and 20 food production and processing establishments, food service establishments, and confectionery business establishments in the province.

Mr. Nguyen Nam Dung, Deputy Director of the Provincial Food Safety and Hygiene Sub-Department said: Through inter-sectoral inspections before the Mid-Autumn Festival, the quality of mooncakes in the area basically meets the standards of food safety and hygiene. Currently, districts and city are continuing to inspect food production and processing facilities and confectionery business establishments in their respective localities. The focus is on conducting inspections of mooncake production facilities and businesses.

In order to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival with food safety while the mooncake market is flooded with cakes of all shapes and flavors, consumers also need to choose a reliable and safe shopping address when buying cakes, avoiding buying poor quality goods that affect their health.
