A leader of the Provincial People’s Committee meets with the Department of Industry and Trade

On the afternoon of October 28, 2022, Mr. Luong Trong Quynh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee chaired a meeting with the Department of Industry and Trade to inspect the industrial investment, production and development in the first 9 months of the year and the tasks for the last 3 month of 2022.

According to a report by the Department of Industry and Trade, in the first 9 months of 2022, industrial production in the province grew over the same period last year because the COVID-19 pandemic was mostly under control. Particularly, the output of some major industrial products increased over the same period in 2021 such as electricity production at 644.3 million kWh, up 8%; more than 657 thousand tons of cement, up 4.2%; alloys and metal compounds at more than 520 tons, up 43.1%; all kinds of stone at nearly 3.1 thousand m3, up 3.1%;…

Currently, the sector has completed the plan to develop industrial clusters integrated with the general planning of the province, especially, 36 industrial clusters has been planned (22 by 2030; 14 after 2030).

In addition, in the first 9 months of 2022, the Department of Industry and Trade actively coordinated with sectors, districts and Lang Son city to effectively manage energy in the province. Especially, it has closely monitored the investment in construction of rural electricity infrastructure; focused on effectively implementing industrial promotion projects in the province; strengthened chemical management, industrial explosives management, energy saving… and focused on performing a number of key tasks assigned by the Provincial People’s Committee from the beginning of 2022.

Besides the achieved results, the implementation of tasks of the Department of Industry and Trade still had some limitations such as some tasks and programs were behind schedule; the construction of industrial zones and industrial clusters was slow, leading to a lack of concentrated production space, failing to attract investors, large production facilities with high industrial value; …

Within the meeting, the leader of the Department of Industry and Trade made a number of recommendations. He hoped the province should drastically direct all levels and sectors to support investors after the decision to approve the investment and the decision to set up industrial clusters. Afterwards, they should implement the next steps as prescribed, promptly solve difficulties and problems in the implementation process, contributing to the goal of operating 3-4 industrial clusters by 2025. At the meeting, the delegates focused on discussing the achieved results, especially clarifying the limitations affecting industrial development in the province and some work in the field of industry and trade in the first 9 months of the year; solutions implemented in the last months of 2022.

Concluding the meeting, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee acknowledged the results of the implementation of the tasks of the Department of Industry and Trade in the first 9 months of 2022.

He also required Department of Industry and Trade to continue to focus on implementing the tasks assigned by the Provincial People’s Committee in the future because currently, the province’s important goal was to focus on developing industrial zones and clusters, developing renewable energy sources…
