Continue to implement synchronously solutions to facilitate import and export businesses in the area

On the afternoon of March 6, Mrs. Doan Thu Ha, member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Committee chaired a meeting with relevant departments,  sectors  and forces to assess the import and export situation in the first 2 months of the year and propose solutions in the coming time.

According to the report of the Provincial Customs Department, from the beginning of 2023 until now, customs clearance of goods has been carried out through 5 border gates: Huu Nghi, Dong Dang International Railway Station, Chi Ma, Tan Thanh, Coc Nam. Goods cleared through provincial border gates are always maintained smoothly with high clearance efficiency.

In the first 2 months of 2023, the total turnover of import and export goods registered for procedures at the provincial Customs Department reached over 473 million USD, increased by 34.7% over the same period in 2022. Of which, imports were 250 million VND, decreased by 14.8%; exports were 223 million USD, increased 286% over the same period.

Besides the achieved results, the import and export of goods through the province in the first 2 months of 2023 encountered some difficulties, which affected tax collection from import and export activities.

Leaders of the Provincial Customs Department reported on the import and export of goods through the provincial border gates in the first 2 months of 2023 at the meeting.

At the meeting, the relevant departments and sectors discussed and clarified the difficulties and obstacles, which clearly stated the problems affecting the attraction of high-tax goods lines to carry out customs clearance procedures through the provincial border gates. At the same time, they proposed solutions to promote customs clearance activities.

Concluding at the meeting, Mrs. Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Committee requested: Relevant departments, agencies and forces continue to implement synchronously solutions to facilitate import-export businesses through the area.

In which, the Management Board of Dong Dang – Lang Son border gate economic zone urgently presides over and coordinates with relevant departments, sectors and forces to review the coordination in performing tasks at the border gate area; coordinate with relevant departments and sectors to continue holding talks with Chinese functional forces on increasing working time at some border gates, in which focused on discussing to come to an agreement to work on saturday at Chi Ma and Coc Nam border gates; review and arrange areas for drivers and vehicles to wait for export procedures…

Border guard forces coordinate with other forces to unify the regulation of means of exporting goods. Provincial Customs Department actively discussed with China Customs to expand export items; departments, sectors and forces continue to coordinate with border districts to hold talks with the Chinese side to quickly restore customs clearance activities at other border gates;…
