A leader of the Provincial People’s Committee inspects the response to the 1st storm in Loc Binh and Dinh Lap districts

On the afternoon of July 18, the delegation of the Provincial People’s Committee led by Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Luong Trong Quynh inspected the response to the 1st storm in Loc Binh and Dinh Lap districts.

According to information from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting and Lang Son Hydro-Meteorological Station, the 1st storm is forecasted to cause heavy rain and strong gusts of wind, with a high risk of flooding, flash flood and landslide in the province, Loc Binh and Dinh Lap districts are forecasted to experience great consequences.

According to the report at the inspection following the direction of the Provincial People’s Committee, the People’s Committees of 2 districts of Loc Binh and Dinh Lap issued a guiding document to proactively respond to the 1st storm; directing specialized departments, People’s Committees of communes and towns to regularly watch news and forecasts about natural disasters and remind people to stay safe; making inspection teams in storm response in communes and towns; carrying out inspection and review of unsafe housing in order to have a plan to evacuate people to a safe place; directing the forces to be on duty 24/24; carrying out flood and storm prevention and control under the motto “4 on the spot”…

From dawn on July 18, rain appeared in 2 districts. For Dinh Lap district, there have been small landslides in some traffic routes.

At the inspection, representatives of a number of departments, sectors, leaders of the People’s Committees of the 2 districts of Loc Binh and Dinh Lap focused on clarifying the preparation for storm response of the 2 districts in the past 2 days, and at the same time proposed measures to cope with the next developments of the 1^st storm as well as rain and flood after the storm.

Speaking at the conclusion of the inspection, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee acknowledged the initiative and positivity of the two districts of Loc Binh and Dinh Lap in preparing to respond to the 1st storm and floods after the storm.

Previously, the mission had inspected a number of roads and reservoirs in Loc Binh and Dinh Lap districts.
