The industry and trade sector accompanies and supports businesses to develop e-commerce

Developing e-commerce is one of the prerequisites for digital transformation in businesses as well as implementing the digital economic development process. Therefore, in recent times, Lang Son industry and trade sector has always accompanied and implemented programs to support businesses in applying e-commerce in production and business activities.

Currently, the Fourth Industrial Revolution is having a strong impact on every industry and every field, the application of e-commerce has become an inevitable trend, determining the development of manufacturing businesses. In order to support and create conditions for businesses to access and apply e-commerce effectively, from 2022 until now, the Department of Industry and Trade has directed the Center for Industry and Trade Promotion to select a number of key businesses to support, thereby creating a spread in the business community.

Accordingly, the center organized training and supported 5 businesses to build e-commerce websites suitable to their models and products; consulted for businesses implementing online sales processes; guided businesses to integrate online payment tools; effective ways to promote e-commerce websites.

Typically, Duc Quy Import-Export Production and Investment Company Limited, Kim Dong commune, Trang Dinh district – one of the units supported in building an e-commerce website, Mr. Nguyen Quang Huy, Head of the company’s Sales Division, said: In 2022, the company was supported by the Department of Industry and Trade to build a website (https://thachdenducquy.vn/) and received instructions on how to operate and administer. Since having the website, the work of promoting and expanding the consumer market has been easier and more convenient. The company has introduced strong product models such as: Guilinggao, powdered black jelly… to promote and introduce on the website and received the attention of many customers. Currently, on average each month, more than 200,000 customers and people visit the company’s website. Product sales reached over 1.2 billion VND/month, an increase of 40% compared to before advertising on the e-commerce website.

Along with supporting the building of e-commerce websites, in 2022, the Department of Industry and Trade also supported 6 businesses with 6 sets of One SME applications (software to support digital transformation for small and medium-sized businesses) to implement digital contract, digital signature, sales management services, business administration…; supported 2 sets of market demand analysis solutions for 2 businesses in the area; 2 sets of automated customer consulting solutions integrated on e-commerce websites for 2 businesses; 6 sets of vnCheck solutions to trace origin for 6 businesses and cooperatives…

Supporting with solution sets, especially the One SME application set, has brought practical results. Mr. Lam Tri Hieu, Deputy Director of Thien Phu Trading and Construction Company Limited (Lang Son city) said: As a large goods distribution unit with many agents and retail points in 11/11 districts and city in the province, we see that the One SME application suite greatly supports business activities such as managing sales and labor activities on digital platforms; implementing electronic contracts and electronic sales invoices… thanks to that, corporate governance is modernized, time and effort are saved, business efficiency is also more stable, on average, the company distributes over 8 billion VND of goods to agents each month.

In addition, the Department of Industry and Trade also set up a digital booth of the Center for Industrial Promotion and Trade Promotion on the Postmat.vn e-commerce trading platform to support bringing products of 17 businesses and cooperatives to the e-commerce platform. In particular, the department focused on bringing agricultural products, specialties… especially OCOP products to promote and build brands, contributing to expanding consumption markets for local production and business units in the province.

Not stopping at supporting businesses to apply e-commerce, the industry and trade sector also focused on propaganda work so that individuals and businesses understand the benefits and proactively apply e-commerce in production and business activities.  Specifically, from 2018 up to now, the industry and trade sector has coordinated with relevant units to organize nearly 20 training classes on e-commerce development with about 1,500 participants; distributed more than 800 e-commerce handbooks to businesses; promoted propaganda through mass media…

The whole province currently has about 3,930 businesses. According to the assessment of the Department of Industry and Trade, up to now more than 60% of businesses have implemented e-commerce transactions at different levels such as: using email, digital signatures, electronic invoices, websites, social networks, e-commerce platforms to promote products and sell products… Of these, about 70% of businesses operating in the field of trade – service – tourism (the majority of the province’s businesses) have applied e-commerce (using websites; setting up fanpages on Facebook, Zalo) to promote and introduce services and products. In particular, among nearly 230 businesses operating in the field of industrial production, about 50% of businesses have applied business management software on technology platforms such as: Human resource management, electronic contracts, product quality management, sales management…

Mr. Tran Huu Giang, Head of Trade Management Division, Department of Industry and Trade said: In recent times, the application of e-commerce in businesses has brought many practical results, helping businesses save costs, increase business efficiency and enhance the competitiveness of businesses. In the coming time, the department will continue to advise the Department of Industry and Trade to implement more activities to support businesses in applying e-commerce; At the same time, the department coordinate to organize training classes to improve the capacity of applying e-commerce for relevant officials to promptly support and answer problems for businesses in the process of applying e-commerce.
