Central Party committee’s office delegation works in Lang Son

A delegation from the Office of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) led by deputy chief Tran Viet Hung inspected the application of information technology in the northern province of Lang Son on September 12.

Permanent Vice Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the provincial People Council Hoang Van Nghiem, and other local officials worked with the delegation.

At present, local Party agencies have two computer systems – intranet and internet. The intranet network is to exchange internal information with technical infrastructure developed and connected to 313 points.

There are 1,419 computers and laptops, 46 servers, 876 printers, and 33 two-sided automatic scanners.

At the district level, 19 Fatherland Front agencies and socio-political organisations have computers connected with the information nework of the provincial Party Committee and the CPV’s wide area network. Units connected with the provincial Party Committee’s information nework use the specialised data transmission line or internal fiber optic line.

As many as 211 out of the 226 Party Committees in communes, wards and towns have computers connected with the provincial Party Committee’s information nework with high speed transmission. Meanwhile all the 32 local party units are equipped with high-speed internet connection.

At the working session, the working delegation pointed out some shortcomings in the application of information technology in Lang Son province.

Permanent Vice Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People Council Hoang Van Nghiem took note of these opinions and clarified some related issues.

He directed the provincial Party Committee’s Office and Party building departments to review the local IT infrastructure system as well as propose the amount of investments and arrange human resources in the field.

He suggested training IT officials from the provincial to the grassroots level while acquiring the constructive ideas of the working delegation to address restrictions in the application of IT soon.

Concluding the function, deputy chief of the CPV Central Committee’s Office Tran Viet Hung said the cyber network from the provincial  to district and communal levels operate smoothly, ensuring information security. Most of documents have been digitalised, and the handling of online documents is conducted according to procedures.

He asked Lang Son to promulgate documents on IT application and soon complete the database centre at the provincial Party Committee.

The province should build international control equipment and regularly maintain the IT system, he said, adding that members from the working delegation will continue supporting the provincial Party Committee’s Office to complete the building of an IT system.
