June 15, 1933 officially becomes the traditional day of the Party Committee of Lang Son province

On December 22, 2022, the Executive Committee of the Provincial Party Committee issued Resolution No. 101-NQ/TU on the designation of June 15, 1933 as the traditional day of the Party Committee of Lang Son province.

Previously, the Lang Son Provincial Party Committee coordinated with the Institute of Party History and the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics to organize a scientific workshop to determine the founding date/traditional date of the Party Committee of Lang Son province with the participation of leaders, former leaders of the province; former leader of Military Region 1; researchers and scientists from the Vietnam National Museum; Vietnam Military History Institute; Vietnam History Institute; Institute of Party History, Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics…

According to published historical documents, historical events associated with the formation and development of the first Party branch of Lang Son province – Thuy Hung branch was established in mid 1933 resulting from the development of the Lang Son revolutionary movement, within the general policy of the Party and the Communist International on re-establishing the Party organization system in Indochina. The leadership and influence of Thuy Hung branch is not only in Van Uyen province but also extends to other localities, playing a pivotal role in directing the construction and development of the Lang Son revolutionary movement; it was the first branch of the Party Committee of Lang Son province, creating the premise of organization and personnel for the development of the Party organization in Lang Son, especially the formation of the provincial leadership. The establishment of the branch created a turning point of the revolutionary movement of Lang Son province, from which the provincial revolutionary movement was put under the direction of Party organization formed in the locality. The designation of the establishment day of Thuy Hung Branch as the traditional day of the Provincial Party Committee also has been a way to express gratitude and honor for the contributions of Comrade Le Hong Phong, Hoang Van Thu, who closely led and directed the establishment the first Party cell of Lang Son province.

On the basis of historical documents, suggestions of former leaders of the province and recommendations of scientists, the Executive Committee of the Provincial Party Committee selected June 15 as the opening date of the first Lang Son Provincial Party Congress (June 15, 1948). It also coincided with the period in the middle of the year (in 1933) which was the time when the first Party cell was established in Thuy Hung. This was a defining and decisive milestone, therefore, June 15, 1933 was chosen to be the traditional day of the Party Committee of Lang Son province. The traditional day will be added to the history of the Party Committee of Lang Son province and popularized. Activities to celebrate the Traditional Day of the Party Committee of Lang Son province will be organized according to the regulations of the Party and the State.
