Promoting external information service

The province implements the Party’s guidelines, the State’s policies and laws on foreign affairs and external information in association with the orientations, in the socio-economic development of the province, in recent years, Party committees and authorities at all levels have focused on propagating and mastering the work of external information to cadres, party members and people from all walks of life.  Thereby, the province contributes to strengthening cooperation relations, enhancing position, maintaining a peaceful and stable environment to serve important tasks.

Mr. Phung Quang Hoi, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Propaganda Department of the Provincial Party Committee, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Youth Union Steering Committee said: In the past time, sticking to the spirit of “Active, flexible, creative, effective”, The Provincial Steering Committee for External Information has advised the Standing Board of the Provincial Party Committee to lead, direct, and implement synchronously and timely the activities of external information activities, ensure compliance with the Party’s guidelines, the State’s policies and laws, and in line with the actual situation of the province. In addition, regularly review and strengthen the advisory force to assist in the work of external information from the province to the grassroots; promote the operational efficiency of member units of the Provincial Steering Committee and 11 district-level steering committees…Thereby, the external information work in the province has achieved many positive results, creating consensus and support of cadres, party members and people for the foreign policies of the Party and State in general and of the province in particular.

In order to effectively implement the external information work, closely following the implementation requirements, the Party committees and authorities at all levels have focused on carrying out the main tasks such as orientation and providing propaganda information; organizing activities of friendship exchange and international cooperation; introducing and promoting the image, potential and strengths of the province; …

Accordingly, the Propaganda Commission of the Provincial Party Committee – the standing agency of the Provincial Steering Committee has advised and issued many periodic and thematic documents to guide the team of reporters and propagandists… to implement the propaganda of directives and resolutions, in which, including foreign affairs and external information works.  In 2022, the Propaganda Commission of the Provincial Party Committee held 13 conferences of rapporteurs in the form of online combined with the participation of more than 40,000 key officials and leaders from the province to the grassroots; In the conferences and distributed documents, there are orientations and guidelines for the propagation of important political tasks, including the external information work. Thereby, it helps cadres, party members and people have the right awareness and convenience in searching and finding out information about foreign affairs in the province.

Mr. Hoang Duc Phung, Secretary of the Party cell, Head of Zone 4, Na Sam town, Van Lang district said: Through official sources of Party committees and authorities at all levels, we firmly grasp the guidelines of the Party and the State’s policies on foreign affairs. From there, disseminating to Party members in the cell to widely propagate to the People about the current situation in the country and internationally; potentials, strengths, cooperation activities, international exchanges of the province and district…Thereby, helping people feel secure to work in production, actively participate in protecting borders and national sovereignty.

Notably, relevant levels and sectors of the province have promoted friendly exchanges and international cooperation with countries in the region and the world; combined the introduction and promotion of the province’s potential, in order to attract investment and tourism, and contribute to the province’s socio-economic development. In 2022, agencies and units organized to welcome and work with 39 delegations/138 foreigners from 15 countries/territories to study, survey and explore investment opportunities; organized 41 meetings online and in person with foreign partners. Departments,commissions and sectors organized 231 meetings at the border gate, 28 online talks.

At the same time, activities to introduce and promote the image, potential and strengths of the province are interested and enhanced. Specifically, Party committees and authorities at all levels have organized many big events to widely promote the image of the province to domestic and international friends; published the provincial foreign affairs news in English – Vietnamese; proactively provided information on the socio-economic situation, cooperation relationship and cooperation needs of the province with a number of localities, foreign partners for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and representative missions of Vietnam abroad to introduce, promote the image of the province…Thanks to those efforts, during the year, the total number of tourists to Lang Son province reached about 3.5 million, reaching 101.16% of the plan, up 115.66% compared to 2021.

Mr. Pham Cong Minh, Head of the Propaganda Commission of Huu Lung District Party Committee said: As the standing agency of the Steering Committee for external information, we have consulted and coordinated with units such as Lang Son Newspaper, Provincial Radio and Television Station, and Vietnam Television to carry out articles, reports… to promote the image of Huu Lung district. At the same time, external information activities are promptly updated on the district’s website, social networks, radio systems… they contributed to attracting tourists to visit and experience the scenic spots in the area.

The above fact shows that the external information work has been effectively implemented by all levels, sectors, agencies and units in the province with many practical, focusing on the target. Propaganda and organization of external information activities adhere to the guidelines of the Party, policies and laws of the State. Thereby, it brings into play the synergy of the whole political system, organizations and individuals in the field of national peace activities, serving the tasks of socio-economic development, national defense and security in the province.
