On November 28, 1959, President Ho Chi Minh launched the Tree Planting Festival. Since then, it has become a good tradition of the nation in every Tet, contributing to a “greener”, “richer and more beautiful” country just like Uncle Ho always expected.

At the launching ceremony, the delegates reviewed the event 64 years ago and affirmed the great significance of planting trees and creating forests in socio-economic development.

After the launching ceremony, the leaders of the Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People’s Council, Provincial People’s Committee, Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, departments and branches of the province; officials and people of Loc Binh district planted trees in the area of Na Duong Coal Company and some other locations in San Vien commune, Loc Binh district.

During the campaign to plant trees on the occasion of the Lunar New Year in 2023, Loc Binh district planted nearly 38,000 trees of all kinds.

The launch of planting trees in the beginning of the year will be a premise for Loc Binh district to exceed the target of new afforestation area in 2023 of 1,200 ha, thereby increasing the district’s forest coverage rate to 58.4%.
