Young people in Lang Son start military service

In the past few days, along with activities to congratulate the Party, celebrate the Spring, celebrate the country’s renewal, in the joyful and exciting emulation spirit of the early days of the Lunar New Year 2023, the Party committees, authorities, unions at all levels in the province have visited, met and encouraged young people responding to the call for military service and join the People’s Police service in 2023.

On February 6 (ie, January 16 of the year of the Cat), 10 districts and Lang Son city in the province will hold military handover ceremonies to send off typical children of Xu Lang to serve in military units in 2023. At this time, representatives of the Party Committee, authorities, mass organizations, relatives, friends and neighbors have met, visited, sent good wishes to encourage the recruits.

We were present at Chi Lang ward, Lang Son city on January 30, 2023 (January 9 of the year of the Cat) while the Party committee, government, boards, sectors, unions and people in the area organized a meeting with young people enlisting in the army in 2023. Ms. Hoang Thi Vien from Dai Thang block, Chi Lang ward shared: “My son wrote a volunteer application for this period, as soon as he received the news of his acceptance, my family was very happy and we reminded my son to strictly abide by the discipline, actively train and study to grow up when he entered the army.”

This time, 8 young people in Chi Lang ward have been recruited for military service and the People’s Police service, 7 off them have volunteer to go to the army.

Nong Trung Duc in Tran Quang Khai block, Chi Lang ward said: “Following the tradition of the previous generations, young people have the obligation to build and protect the Fatherland, so I have writen a volunteer application. We bring along our will, responsibility and dedication of our efforts and wisdom, contributing to building a stronger homeland.”

This year, the whole province has 1,250 new recruits in military service and 210 ones in the People’s Police service. They enlisted in General Staff, Division 3, Engineer Brigade 575(Military Zone 1); General Department of Technology (Ministry of National Defense); National shooting range area 1; Lang Son Provincial Military Command, Lang Son Provincial Border Guard Command and Lang Son Provincial Police Department, 219 of them wrote letters to volunteer for the army (an increase of 5 young people compared to 2022). ; 701 new recruits received lessons about the Party before joining the army (an increase of 29 young people compared to 2022); nearly 80% of young people performing military service have a high school degree and 100% of young people joining the People’s Police service graduated from high school.

As a border district, in 2023, Van Lang has the highest number of young volunteers to perform military service in the whole province. Senior Lieutenant Colonel Nong Van Hieu, Deputy Secretary of the District Military Party Committee, Politician of the Military Command of Van Lang District said: “This year, Van Lang district called for the enlistment of 129 young people into military service and People’s Police service (61 of them volunteer to go). Before they go, the communes and towns held meeting with their family, relatives and the new recruits, greeted and presented gifts to them, especially those with difficult circumstances, thereby helping young people to be more excited and confident to enlist in the army.

Promoting the tradition of the revolutionary homeland, the typical citizens representing the youth of Xu Lang today confidently joined the army, vowed to strive, study and train to become exemplary soldiers of the Vietnam People’s Army, firmly built and defended the Fatherland.
