Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee received and worked with the delegation of the National Council of the Solidarity Front for the Development of Cambodian Motherland

On the afternoon of May 31, 2023, at the headquarters of the People’s Committee of Lang Son province, Mr. Ho Tien Thieu, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee chaired the meeting and worked with the delegation of the National Council of the Solidarity Front for the Development of Cambodian Motherland led by Mr. Nhem Valy, Member of the Central Committee of the Cambodian People’s Party, Standing Vice Chairman cum General Secretary of the National Council of the Solidarity Front for the Development of Cambodian Motherland.

At the meeting, the Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee expressed his pleasure to welcome Mr. Nhem Valy and the delegation to survey in the province. He said that this is a very meaningful activity in the context that in 2022, the two countries have organized many practical activities to celebrate the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Cambodia.

He emphasized that Vietnam and Cambodia are two close neighbors, always sticking together, sharing and helping each other in the process of national building and development. Solidarity, traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation have been cultivated by generations of leaders and people of the two countries, becoming invaluable common assets of the two peoples.

The Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee informed the delegation about the socio-economic development of the province and affirmed that Lang Son province always encourages and creates conditions for agencies, organizations and businesses of the two sides to connect and implement practical exchange and cooperation activities, suitable to actual needs and conditions; at the same time, Lang Son province also welcomes Cambodian delegations to survey and exchange in order to promote cooperation in fields such as economic, trade and investment, people-to-people exchange, cultural exchange, student exchange, business connection.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nhem Valy expressed his pleasure to visit and work in Lang Son on this business trip to Vietnam; Thank you to the leaders of the Provincial People’s Committee and the departments, agencies and sectors for the respectful welcome to the delegation.

Standing Vice Chairman and General Secretary of the National Council of the United Front for the Development of the Fatherland of Cambodia gave an overview of the socio-economic development of Cambodia and emphasized the potentials and strengths in economy development, especially in the fields of agriculture, tourism, etc.

Affirming the good traditional relationship between Vietnam and Cambodia, which has been continuously consolidated and developed over the years, Mr. Nhem Valy hoped that Lang Son province would become a twin sister with a Cambodian locality, thereby enhancing information exchange and cooperation in various fields, contributing to cultivating the good traditional relationship between the two countries.

Agreeing with Mr. Nhem Valy’s opinion, the Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee affirmed that he would assign relevant agencies and units to discuss and agree with the Solidarity Front for the Development of Cambodian Motherland, the Cambodian Embassy in Vietnam to promote the organization of twinning between Lang Son and the locality of Cambodia.

He also wished that the Permanent Vice President and General Secretary of the National Council of the Solidarity Front for the Development of Cambodian Motherland would continue to pay attention to the connection between agencies, organizations, businesses and people of Vietnam and Cambodia in general, between Lang Son province and Cambodia’s localities in particular.
