15 projects win prizes at Lang Son Provincial Startup Innovation Competition in 2023

On November 23, the Organizing Committee of the Startup Innovation (SI) Competition held a closing and awarding ceremony of the 2023 Lang Son Provincial SI Competition in Lang Son province. Mr. Duong Xuan Huyen, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Provincial SI Competition attended and directed at the ceremony.

Opening the 2023 Lang Son Provincial SI Competition, the Organizing Committee received 46 projects from authors and author groups in the province. They are in many fields including agricultural development, traditional handicraft development, eco-tourism development, processed food, cosmetics… These are all new business models with potential. In the preliminary round, the Jury evaluated and selected 15 projects for the final round. In the final round, projects were graded after direct interviews with the authors and author groups.

At the ceremony, the Organizing Committee awarded one first prize, one second prize, two third prizes, 6 consolation prizes and 5 thematic prizes for excellent startup projects. The Smoked and Dried Pork Project by author Loc Thi Hong, Bac Son Town, Bac Son District excellently won the first prize at this year’s competition. On this occasion, 3 units and 8 individuals with achievements in supporting the propaganda and popularization of the 2023 Lang Son Provincial SI Competition were awarded certificates of merit by the Department of Science and Technology.

At the ceremony, the Provincial SI Advisory Team was introduced to support start-up organizations, individuals and businesses, contributing to improving the effectiveness of supporting the SI ecosystem development in Lang Son province.

Here, ABGroup Joint Stock Company, Four Seasons Green Agriculture Joint Stock Company, Institute of Agricultural Engineering and Post-harvest Technology supported start-up cooperatives, authors and groups in the province. With an equipment package of sasanqua camellia oil press machine, packaging design and printing, product preservation and processing with a total value of 90 million VND.

Speaking at the closing and awarding ceremony, Mr. Duong Xuan Huyen, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Provincial SI Competition congratulated and praised the authors and groups of authors who won awards. In order to continue to strongly spread the start-up spirit throughout the province, attracting the participation of organizations and individuals, he requested member agencies of the Organizing Committee to summarize and draw lessons for better organization of the competition in the following years. He also asked authors and author groups to actively participate in the activities of the Common Working Area to support the SI ecosystem. He assigned the Department of Science and Technology continues to host and coordinate with relevant agencies to promote the implementation of the plan supporting the SI ecosystem, to actively research and advise competent authorities to promulgate mechanisms and policies to promptly support organizations and individuals with innovative startup ideas and projects, to focus on training a team of consultants who support innovative startups…
