Lang Son Palace of Children and Teenagers: 20 years with the children and teenagers of Lang Son

– June 1, 2001 – the first day the Palace of Children (now the Palace of Children and Teenagers) officially opened to welcome children to study, live and play, is a historic milestone, an important mark to the childhood of Xu Lang’s children. Since then, after 20 years of building and development, Palace of Children and Teenagers has become a familiar and beloved address for generations of children in the province.

As a center for organizing the activities of Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Organization, entertainment activities for children after school hours, creating a healthy environment, attracting a large number of young people to live, study and physically practice, develop their talents, for the past 20 years, the Provincial Palace of Children and Teenagers has organized many music and dance performances to welcome events, major holidays, art contests, and sports. The Palace also maintains the organization of talent classes covering such many subjects as vocal, musical instrument, dance, writing practice, painting, chess, table tennis, football, badminton, martial arts, life skills training classes including army semester, border guard experience, learning to be a police officer, we are soldiers… which have attracted the attention of parents and a large number of young people. Many activities made a good impression for the children, many new playgrounds were organized towards the grassroots such as the weekend playground “Music Garden”, “I love Vietnamese history”, the contest “Do, re, mi”… Thereby, it creates conditions for children to show their talents, typically Hoang Ngoc Bao Han, Vi Nguyet Ha who won the gold award, and Le Thi Quynh Chiwho won the Silver prize of the “Oriental skylark  Melodies” Festival organized by VOV3 the Voice of Vietnam.

Children’s programs to welcome major events are always carefully planned such as the program “Children’s art – welcoming the 13th National Party Congress” and many other programs to welcome the Congress of the Party, Youth Union, Uncle Ho’s good grandchildren, patriotic emulation… Along with that, Lang Son Palace of Children and Teenagers also participated in regional and national competitions and festivals organized by the Central Council of Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Organization such as joining the Band Singing Festival; Festival of Young Bamboo Art Performance Team from Children’s House in the northern provinces; the National Festival of Palaces and Houses of children… in which it achieved many good results.

Sports activities are also given priority. Over the years, the Palace of Children and Teenagers has participated in sports tournaments organized by the Central Government and the system of children’s houses and provinces, especially in 2006, Lang Son Palace of Children and Teenagers successfully hosted the Festival. “Singing Band”, in 2015, successfully hosted the Festival “The sound of our team’s trumpet” among the palaces and houses of children in Northern area, attracting more than 2,000 children from 26 provinces and cities to participate in… Friendship exchange activities between children of Lang Son (Vietnam) and children of Guangxi (China) are always well maintained, contributing to raising awareness and tightening the friendship between children of the two countries.

Counseling, career orientation and job introduction for young people are focused. In the past years, the Palace has actively cooperated with relevant agencies and units to provide career advice to students in middle and high schools on vocational education, regular education and study abroad, export labor to Japan, China, Korea… creating jobs for thousands of young people.

With is development and growth, in the past 20 years, Lang Son Palace of Children and Teenagers has been honored to receive many flags, certificates of merit and certificates from all levels and sectors. Specifically, on the occasion of the 5th establishment anniversary of the Palace (June 1, 2001 – June 1, 2006), it received a certificate of merit from the Prime Minister; on the occasion of its 10th establishment anniversary (June 1, 2001 – June 1, 2011) it also received the Third-class Labor Medal awarded by the State President; in 2015, the unit was awarded an excellent unit emulation flag by the Provincial People’s Committee; in 2021, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Organization, it was awarded a certificate of merit of the People’s Committee of Lang Son province

Promoting the achieved results, overcoming difficulties and with the attention and conditions created by all levels and sectors, entering a new stage, Lang Son Palace of Children and Teenagers continues to strive, innovate content and forms of activities, try to remain a reliable address, the common home of the children of Lang Son.
