Provincial People’s Committee meets to evaluate the progress of implementing the policy on housing rental support for workers

On the afternoon of August 11, Mr. Duong Xuan Huyen, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee chaired a meeting to evaluate the progress of implementing the policy on housing rental support for workers according to Decision No. 08/2022 dated March 28, 2022 of the Prime Minister.

The thorough understanding and implementation of the policy on housing rental support under Decision No. 08 of the Prime Minister has been closely concerned and directed by the leaders of the Provincial People’s Committee; all levels and sectors in the province have actively popularized and implemented this policy according to regulations.

According to data as of August 11, 2022, relevant agencies in the province have received 613 applications for support with the amount of 470.5 million VND, mainly in Van Lang, Cao Loc, Chi Lang districts and Lang Son city. The province has supported 339 workers with the amount of 206.5 million VND; the remaining applications are currently being evaluated by districts and city, expected to be completed before August 15, 2022.

Concluding the meeting, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee affirmed that this was a policy with great humanitarian meaning of the Government, therefore, districts and city were required to urgently complete the waiting application as soon as possible in accordance with regulations.

He requested relevant departments, sectors, districts and city to timely implement the support package, to the right subjects; the Department of Finance should urgently provide additional budget for districts and city; relevant units were to strengthen propaganda to businesses and beneficiaries about the policy, to check and supervise the budget disbursement, to follow it so that the support package could be effective, thereby promptly encouraging and supporting workers in the province.
