Pharmacist wholeheartedly devote to work

In the medical examination and treatment system, people often only know the doctors who exam, treat and nurses who take care of patients, few people know about the pharmacists who are also daily, hours diligent in their work, silently contributing to improving the effectiveness of patient treatment. Mrs. Hoang Thi Quan, born in 1982, pharmacist of Loc Binh District Medical Center is one of them.

Pharmacist Hoang Thi Quan advised patients on how to use the drug

On the day after the Lunar New Year, we were present at the outpatient pharmacy, Loc Binh District Health Center. Here, every 2-3 minutes someone comes to get medicine. Most of the people who come to get medicine are advised by pharmacist Quan to be dedicated, thoughtful and behave with a gentle and welcoming attitude. For elderly people with poor eyesight, she wrote down large, clear memos and sticks them on each blister pack for easy reading by the patient. In the case of taking medicine for children, she did not forget to ask about the child’s antibiotic use status to guide testing the reaction before using …

Mrs. Vi Thi Hieu, Church area, Loc Binh town said: I came to get medicine for my daughter with acute otitis media. Because I have to take many medicines, I do not remember all the ways the doctor told me to use. Thanks to Mrs. Quan’s thoughtful and meticulous instructions on how to use it, and even added a memo on each blister, I know how to use it and don’t worry about using the wrong medicine or taking at the wrong time for my child.

After medical examination, the patient or family member is prescribed and guided by the doctor on how to use the medicine, therefore, when dispensing the medicine, pharmacist Hoang Thi Quan will instruct the patient and his family on how to use it.

My most impression on Mrs. Quan is that in one time, a critical patient (due to the use of pesticides) was taken to the district health center for emergency. Witnessing that scene, Mrs. Quan quickly went to get an ambulance stretcher, and her family took the patient to the emergency area and called the doctors on duty. At the request of the doctor, she went down to the drugstore to get the drugs without having to carry out the import and export process, contributing to timely emergency treatment and saving the patient’s life.

Pharmacist Hoang Van Hieu, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy – Medical equipment and supplies and Infection Control, Loc Binh Medical Center said: The Faculty is in charge of 1 main warehouse and 4 retail warehouses, in addition to carrying out infection control and dispensing drugs to treat opioid addiction with Methadone substitutes. Mrs. Quan is assigned to manage the main warehouse, the job is relatively hard. However, she often helps her colleagues manage more retail drug stores, so that colleagues can focus on dispensing Methadone and bidding.

Through conversation, we learned that Mrs. Quan was born and raised in Lang Son city. After graduating from the Intermediate School of Pharmacy at Hanoi University of Pharmacy in 2007, She does more jobs related to the pharmaceutical industry to gain more experience. In early 2010, she was admitted to Loc Binh District Health Center to work.

Doctor Hoang Thi Hoa, Director of Loc Binh District Medical Center said: Pharmacist Hoang Thi Quan is a humble and gentle officer with colleagues and dedicated and attentive to patients. Not only that, at work, she has good, creative ways to help the unit. For example, she has set up a Zalo group in which there are treating doctors. Every day, she gives fluctuating information about each drug, thereby helping doctors understand the quantity and type of drug to prescribe to patients accurately and effectively. That work has been highly appreciated by the center’s leadership. Her actions have contributed to improving the treatment efficiency of the unit and contributing to the overall success in the cause of people’s health care in the whole district. In some other activities, Mrs. Quan was also praised and rewarded promptly by the unit.
