Focusing on stimulating domestic tourism

(LSO) – Responding to the program “Vietnamese travel in Vietnam” launched by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MOCST), all levels, sectors and businesses of the province have many practical solutions to stimulate domestic tourism demand, attracting tourists to Lang Son and explore domestic tourist destinations.

Discounts on services from 10% to 20%

Ms. Nguyen Kim Thao, Chairwoman of the Provincial Tourism Association, said:  ‘In the context of the Covid-19 epidemic in Vietnam is basically under control, but international tourism has remained stagnant due to its complicated developments in many countries around the world, the Provincial Tourism Association has called on travel businesses, accommodation, transportation, tourist destinations to reduce service prices to stimulate domestic tourism, attract tourists to experience and explore Xu Lang’s tourism. The Association has guided and urged tourism businesses to understand the needs of customers to adjust products and services accordingly’.

With the initiative of the Provincial Tourism Association, representatives of the member businesses have shown their determination to strengthen tourism promotion connection. By mid-June 6-2020, the whole province has had 14 businesses of tourism, travel, restaurants, hotels, tourist attractions registering, exempting tickets for visiting relics spots, services from 10% up to 20% including Nhi – Tam Thanh relics spot with tickets discounted to 20%; Binh Minh Transport Cooperative reducing car rental prices from 10% to 15%; Thao Vien Restaurant offering 10% discount on catering services; Hang Hu Tangerine Garden offering free tourist ticket and 10% discount on food services, etc.

Officials of the Provincial Tourism Promotion Center explained to tourists about Dong Dang Station

Mr. Ngo Manh Tung, Director of Kim Son International Travel Branch (Lang Son city) said: ‘To stimulate domestic tourism, we have built an attractive promotion program to attract tourists to Lang Son. From now until the end of September 2020, the branch will discount 10% on all hotel, restaurant and travel services, together with a commitment to ensure service quality, bringing satisfaction to visitors’.

   Strengthening tourism promotion and advertisement

In order to stimulate the demand for domestic tourism, creating favorable conditions for people to travel domestically and attract tourists to Lang Son, on June 1, 2020, the Provincial People’s Committee issued the Plan 93/KH-UBND to launch the Program “Vietnamese travel in Vietnam”. On that basis, the Culture, Sports and Tourism sector cooperates with other departments, sectors and tourism enterprises inside and outside the province to focus on propagating and promoting the image of the potential and strengths of Lang Son tourism as well as the level of security and available conditions to welcome and serve visitors. It is expected that on June 19, 2020, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the province will hold a conference to launch the program “Vietnamese travel in Vietnam” with the participation of 60 enterprises operating in the field of tourism in Lang Son and other provinces as Ninh Binh, Quang Ninh, Cao Bang and Hanoi. This event is to promote the potential of Lang Son tourism; it is also an opportunity for tourism businesses to meet and sign to sale and exchange of tourism products with a commitment to stabilizing prices and ensuring the highest quality of service for tourists.

Mr. Nguyen Phuc Ha, Director of Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said: ‘In the coming time, the Culture, Sports and Tourism sector continues to implement many practical solutions to stimulate domestic tourism demand. The first is organizing and participating in big events such as: Mau Son Tourism Festival in 2020; International Tourism Fair (expected in August 2020); Xu Lang Tourism and Culture Festival in Hanoi (October 2020) etc. Above all, it is necessary to strengthen communication activities, promote and advertise tourism to people inside and outside the province to realize that this is really a “golden time” to discover Vietnamese tourism’.

With the initiative and practical and synchronized solutions, it is believed that by the end of 2020, domestic tourism in the province will have many flourishes, making up for the serious decrease in the number of visitors to Lang Son in the begin of the year; reducing damage to businesses; creating jobs for workers.
