Light up the morality “When you drink water, think of the source”

(LSO) – In recent years, all levels and sectors in the province have paid attention and well provided the welfare for people with meritorious contributions to the revolution, mobilizing the entire population to take care of policy beneficiaries and meritorious contributors in the province. In these respectful days of July, the activities of expressing gratitude, care for meritorious contributors, honoring to policy families and war invalids and martyrs have been paid more and more attention.

Currently, the province is managing and paying monthly allowances for 4,092 meritorious contributors and their relatives with the funding of over 7.7 billion VND. On the occasion of every Lunar New Year and War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day July 27, 2011, the province established working missions to visit and present gifts to policy beneficiary families and meritorious contributors in the area and send gifts to all meritorious contributors, heavily injured war invalids from Lang Son being treated at centers for wounded and diseased soldiers; Department of Labor – Invalids and Social Affairs organizes to bring meritorious contributors who are typical war invalids, injured soldiers, and martyrs’ families to visit the old battlefield; visiting Hanoi, meeting with Party and State leaders etc. In 2019 and 2020, the province has given gifts to 29,747 meritorious contributors and policy families with a budget of over 12.6 billion VND; levels, sectors and social organizations in the province presented 3,542 gifts, worth 1,076.9 million VND.

Welcoming the delegation of Lang Son province and Lang Son city to visit, to present gifts on the occasion of the 73rd anniversary of war invalids and martyrs’ day, Mr. Hoang Van Vinh, Block 8, Hoang Van Thu Ward, Lang Son City (War invalids level ¾ ) was touched. ‘The attention of the provincial, city leaders of all  levels and branches is a great source of spiritual encouragement for us, a motivation for the family to rise up in life, joining hands to contribute to the overall development of the province.

In addition to the activities of visiting and presenting gifts, all levels and sectors also organized many other meaningful activities such as providing health check, medical examination and treatment for policy families, meritorious contributors; mobilizing border soldiers and youth union members to help families with policies on rice harvest, crop planting, farming and so on.

Ms. Ngoc Lan Huong, Director of Thien Ngoc Lan Health Joint Stock Company said: ‘On the occasion of the 73rd anniversary of war invalids – martyrs this year, the company cooperates with the People’s Committee of Lang Son City to organize medical examination and health counsel and free drug delivery for nearly 500 meritorious contributors and policy families in the city. The program is an opportunity for us to express our gratitude and respect to the meritorious revolution contributors, and their relatives.

Along with that, the party committees, authorities, departments, agencies, unions, business units, benefactors and people in the province have actively responded to support the gratitude fund. In 2019, gratitude fund at all levels in the province has raised over 1,447 billion VND; In the first 6 months of 2020, organizations and individuals have donated the funds of over VND 500 million. From this fund, all levels and sectors supported to build and repair gratitude houses for 31 families; repairing and building 23 new cemeteries, the memorial house showing the name of the martyrs; visiting, encouraging and presenting gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers and policy families, meritorious contributors in the province. In addition to the Gratitude Foundation, in the past two years, from social sources, all levels and sectors have supported the construction and repair of 17 gratitude houses, worth over VND 1.5 billion VND.

The practical activities of all levels, sectors, unions and the mutual care of the whole society express their deep gratitude for the contributions and sacrifices of policy families, meritorious contributors lights up the morality “When you drink the water, think the source” of our nation.
