Additional 5 communes met new rural standards

(LSO) – On November 13, Lang Son Provincial Evaluation Council of new rural development standards met to evaluate and recognize new rural development standards for 5 communes: Vinh Yen, Binh Gia district; Nhat Tien, Huu Lung district; Kien Moc, Dinh Lap district; Bac Hung and Hoang Viet, Van Lang district.

Mr. Luong Trong Quynh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Evaluation Council chaired the meeting.

At the meeting, leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development gave a brief report on the evaluation results for 5 communes. Accordingly, up to now, 5 communes have basically reached 19/19 criteria as prescribed.

At the meeting, representatives of the departments, branches, the People’s Committees of the evaluated districts and communes discussed and clarified a number of contents related to the completion and consolidation of some criteria such as environment, education, poverty rate, political system, access to law, cultural facilities, transportation …

After discussion, members of the Council proceeded to voting. As a result, the 5 above-mentioned communes are eligible to be recognized by Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee as communes meeting new rural standards in 2020.

Speaking at the conclusion of the meeting, Mr. Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee praised the effort and determination from province to grassroots in new rural development.

He directed the Provincial Coordination Office of new rural devepemetn to urgently complete the documents for submission according to regulations; Departments, branches and district People’s Committees continued to closely follow and direct communes to improve the quality of the criteria, especially environmental criteria, cultural facilities.
