The leader of the Provincial People’s Committee inspected at Huu Nghi International Border Gate and Tan Thanh Border Gate

(LSO) – On November 10, the delegation of the Provincial People’s Committee led by Mrs. Doan Thu Ha, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Committee inspected the situation of goods import and export and fee collection at the border gates: Tan Thanh, Huu Nghi.

From early 2020 until now, amid the complicated developments of the Covid-19 epidemic, the Provincial People’s Committee has paid attention, directed and proposed many solutions to both ensure the epidemic prevention and control and facilitate goods customs clearance through the border gates.

According to the report of the Management Board of Dong Dang – Lang Son Border Gate Economic Zone, as of November 5, 2020, the total import and export turnover at Tan Thanh Border Gate reached 296.7 million USD; 1,105.5 million USD at Huu Nghi International Border Gate.

Over the past 10 months of 2020, the fee collection under Resolution 01 (fees for the use of infrastructure works, service works and public utilities in the border area) at Tan Thanh Border Gate is 33,311 million VND, a reduction of 51.2% over the same period in 2019; 323,115 million VND, up 2.2% over the same period in 2019 at Huu Nghi International Border Gate.

In addition to the results, the situation of goods import and export and fee collection at the two border gates still have some problems such as at Tan Thanh Border Gate, the volume of export trucks is still left a lot in the Chinese parking lot; the management of the specialized driver team needs to be changed to suit the current epidemic prevention and control; at Huu Nghi International Border Gate, data collation has not been performed according to the fee collection process and so on.

Concluding the inspection session, the Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Committee acknowledged the efforts of departments, committees, agencies and the People’s Committees of two districts: Van Lang, Cao Loc and functional forces at the two border gates.

She analyzed and pointed out some limitations that the delegates mentioned at the inspection and directed committees, agencies and functional forces to actively implement remedial solutions.

The Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Committee requested the Management Board of Dong Dang – Lang Son Border Gate Economic Zone to preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies to continue exchanging with the Chinese functional forces to speed up the time for goods customs clearance, exchanging and unifying vehicle channels when the volume of vehicles increases; agree on the working time among forces at the border gates and so forth.

Committees, agencies and functional forces need to strengthen coordination and proactively propose solutions to remove difficulties, creating the most favorable conditions for goods import and export activities in the locality.
