Trang Dinh organizes a festival advertising “That Khe roasted duck, local cuisine and specialty products” and the contest “Miss Duck”

On the morning of October 10, at the 73rd anniversary of That Khe Liberation Day (October 10, 1950 – October 10, 2023) and the Autumn-Winter Border Victory in 1950, the People’s Committee of That Khe town, Trang Dinh district opened a festival advertising “That Khe roast duck, local cuisine and specialty products” and organized “Miss Duck” contest.

Within the festival, delegates and people visited and enjoyed typical products of the district such as roasted duck, roasted pig, banh khao (cake made of roasted glutinous rice flour), khau sli (sweetened puffed rice), banh phong (bulging rice cake); bao thai rice, black jelly, cinnamon, star anise… and many other handicraft products at 55 booths of units including People’s Committee of communes and towns, schools, business households in That Khe town and surrounding areas…

This event introduced That Khe roasted duck and local products to tourists from all over… Additionally, it was an opportunity for units and business households to participate in advertising their specialty products and connecting for product consumption, contributing to promoting production and business in the district.

Businesses in the district participate in the auction of “Miss Duck”

Previously, within the framework of activities to celebrate the 73rd anniversary of That Khe Liberation Day, the People’s Committee of That Khe town organized the first “Miss Duck” contest in 2023 with the participation of 21 communes and town in the district. As a result, the Organizing Committee awarded a prize to the unit with the most beautiful duck. Specifically, “Miss Duck” title belonged to the duck fromChi Minh commune; 1st runner-up was the duck from Doi Can commune; 2nd runner-up was the one of That Khe town. The contest contributed to preserving and developing high-quality duck breeds, advertising, introducing and maintaining the “blue-headed duck” brand, honoring duck farmers in Trang Dinh district. The contest attracted the attention of businesses and farmers, thereby promoting the development of production and consumption chains of duck meat products (Trang Dinh roasted duck), improving product’s value.

In addition, the Organizing Committee organized an auction for Miss Duck and Runner-ups with a total value of 51 million VND. The entire above amount will be spent on social security.
