Military Region 1 official discusses disease prevention, combat in Lang Son

(LSO) – A working delegation of the Military Region 1 High Command led by Maj. Gen. Phan Van Tuong, vice commander and head of the steering committee for prevention and control of the acute respiratory disease caused by a new strain of coronavirus (nCoV) of the Military Region 1 had a session with Lang Son’s steering committee against the disease.

To date, the provincial Military High Command has turned some military camps into quarantine areas, which could hold up to 1,400 people subject to quarantine and health monitoring.

At the session, Huyen affirmed that agencies at all levels and sectors in Lang Son have stayed vigilant and local authorities have ordered preventive measures against the virus.
The province has set up inspection teams to examine steps of nCoV prevention and control, as well as devise scenarios and countermeasures in a bid to avoid unprecedented and unexpected situations leading to confusion.

The official asked the Military Region 1 to support Lang Son in equipment for nCoV prevention and control and its quarantine centre.

For his part, Tuong spoke highly of Lang Son’s efforts in nCoV prevention and control and agreed with the provincial steering board on assigning the Lang Son Military High Command to join hands with local departments and sectors to build a response plan to submit to the People’s Committee for approval.

He requested Lang Son to continue inspections at local trails and mobilise militiamen and police officers to team up with border guards in border control, along with bolstering communications on nCoV prevention.

The Military Region 1 will provide the province with medical equipment and resources on the prevention and control of the virus, he pledged.
