Lang Son Province People’s Committee and Viettel Group signed a collaboration agreement

– In the afternoon of March 31st, Mrs. Lam Thi Phuong Thanh, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and  Mr. Ho Tien Thieu, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee on behalf of Lang Son province had a working meeting with the delegation of Military Industry – Telecommunications Group (Viettel) led by Colonel Tao Duc Thang, Deputy General Director of the corporation.

 At the meeting, delegates discussed and signed a memorandum of understanding for further cooperation in building and developing e-government, digital transformation, smart city and telecommunications infrastructure in Lang Son province.

Also, an overview of Viettel Group’s infrastructure, capabilities and experience in telecommunications and information technology (IT) was introduced by their leaders.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee emphasized that over the past years Lang Son province has always considered developing an e-government, digital transformation and smart city as an important and meaningful task which is desperately believed to boost socio-economic development, ensure national defense and security in the province.

Mr. Chairman also was looking forward to the cooperation between the province and Viettel Group. He expected that the group would continue to employ the best resources, focus on research and deploy new applications of telecommunications and IT in the province to meet the specific development needs of agencies and units in the province.

Also at the meeting, a memorandum of understanding between Lang Son and Viettel was signed in order to confirm the collaboration in building an e-government, integrate digital technology, developing a smart city and telecommunications infrastructure for the province.

According to the signed memorandum, Viettel Group will coordinate with Lang Son Province People’s Committee to carry out a number of projects including implementing digital transformation in all three areas as namely as digital government, digital economy, digital society; consulting and supporting the construction of Smart Urban Operations Monitoring Center (IOC) and developing smart application services; as well as deploying telecommunications – IT infrastructures in urban areas and industrial zones in the period 2021 – 2025.
